Work seemed to be continuing well but the weather was very bad the day I visited so venturing outside of the site office for photograhy purposes was out of the question This message was last edited by johnfro on 7/21/2008.

To add to John's original email, if you've not seen it already go to the Corvera website (The PGA link below) and click on the pdf file - it further explains the visit of Olazabal and his opinion that it will definitely host a tour event in the future, together with a statement that it will be ready for playing on toward end of 2009. Encouraging.

Hi all
We have had a look at the golf info as suggested by Warren ,has anyone noticed that there are now no links to apartments for sale, could it be that they are all sold.
They have also put some photos on about the golf course designer.

Hi
The properties not being shown on the website may well be a delay in updating the site, but just maybe they are temporarily delaying the later stages until the economic climate improves?

Hi All
I enquired about the golf course earlier this week from Esther Van De Velde and got the following e-mail response -
We have already started with the construction of our golf course. Actually, Jose Maria Olazabal was here last week to see the progress. The planning for the golf course is as followed: we have already finished 4 holes (except the seeding) the whole golf course will be seeded next spring/summer (2009). We can only seed in the summer periods because of the temperature. Then it will need around 6 month of maturing before the golf will be playable. So based on this, our expectations of opening our golf course will be end 2009/ beginning 2010.

Thanks for the info RMW, it's good to know that the golf course will not be to far behind the completion of phase 1 &11. It is also good to see Esther is still promptly and effectively replying to emails, previously my experience of sending emails to others at Calidona has been very hit and miss.

For what it's worth this is the BabelFish translation:
Two Masters, four Ryder Cup, 22 triumphs in the European Circuit and 20 designs of golf courses to their backs are the numbers of one of the best Spanish players of golf: Jose Maria Olazábal. The past Tuesday, 15 of July, & realised a visit deprived to the facilities of Corvera Golf; Country Club (Murcia), to supervise works of the field that he and their company, Integral Design Design Golf, LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY has designed. An intensive day that from first hour in the morning it had like fundamental objective to cross those that they will be the 18 holes of the field that to day of today are in phase of construction; to review the situation of works and to contribute improvement suggestions to the route, especially the disposition of tees, búnkeres and greens. The field, that will occupy 70 hectares, will have a route of almost seven kilometers (6,700 meters in length) from the bars of exit of professionals. For Antonio Lopez, manager of Corvera Golf & Country Club, “the visit of Olazábal has supposed an important event in the development of the project, reason why it supposes of confirmation of the high expectations put in the golf course”. The entailment of Corvera Golf & Country Club and its first society Calidona with the PGAŽs of Europe - Corvera has been designated as future soothes of Winter of this one prestigious institution and the own quality of the field has taken to Chema Olazábal to affirm after their visit that without a doubt, in just a short time, Corvera will be soothes of some match of the European Tour. The works will continue throughout the next months with the forecast of sowing for the next spring. If the calendar is fulfilled, at the end of 2009, the field could be inaugurated.
Sounds very soothing!!!

I just got back from hols. Had a chat with Celia about the golf course. I can confirm that the seeding will take place next year after phase 1 and 2 are completed. The course is of the standard that can stage international tournaments.
Hotels, supermarket, football pitches etc.. will be last built.

HI HQ,
I assumed it meant after phase 1 and 2 though I am not that confident in that assumption.
Also, Celia mentioned that each 'community' will have a winter pool. I think it meant an indoor, heated swimming pool - can anyone confirm? This message was last edited by mmepani on 7/31/2008.

Celia confirmed that there had about 600 properties to sell. They are obliged to build (after obtaining the building licenses) the ones they have sold. If they cannot sell they will simply 'garden' over the unsold plots until such a time when the credit crunch improves.

Hi
Corvera Golf still do not have the property sales section on their website, does anyone know the reason for this? It appears to be a rather excessive time for a website up date. Have they decided not sell any more under the current climate? If this is the case why do their agents still appear to still be selling them?
I can see what mmepani has said about 'gardening' over unsold plots and that certainly seems fair enough, but what happens if say a quarter of phase 3 or 4 are sold will they build a quarter of these phases? Also will there be any implications for the additional facilities, will these be scaled down if there are significantly fewer apartments? I certainly believe Corvera will be an excellent development but it is nevertheless important for us to to be aware of what exactly is happenning with the development.
