Hi.
I've just returned from Las Palmeras with my family December 11th-16th.We purchased an apartment in Block 10,and we are only the 2nd occupants in this Block. There is a 3rd occupent starting to move in.Although we are very happy with our apartment,I'm afraid it's looking very bleak for the rest of the development. There is no work going on at all,and it doesn't look as though any completions will be done period.Basically Rushcliffe has no money left. From our balcony we could see into the side of Block 14,and I'm afraid it looks grim. There is a number of patio doors open, and we saw one with no patio doors at all. With Winter well and truly here, these apartments will be ruined with damp.
We heard that there has been some break-ins,but there is full time visible security on the go up at Block 13/14.We have installed wrought iron bars on our windows looking on to the corridor, and also changed our locks.
As for rentals,we spoke to a number of people that non payments is common throughout the Costa Del Sol,and short term rentals is pretty non existant, mainly due to the weak pound. We were intending doing short term rentals with MRI,but have decided that we only want the apartment for our own use.MRI by the way is going down the tubes fast, and if you have anything to do with them, forget it.They won't take phone calls, accept emails, and if you get a meeting with them like what we did,all you get is lie after lie after lie.
We have a number of issues, but that is mainly with MRI.Our issues however are small compared to the many people who have invested everything into these apartments, and will come out with nothing. It's very, very sad indeed.
Allan/Sharon.
