Supermarket near Murcia airport?

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anybody knows of a large supermarket on our way from Murica airport to Condado?? We are arriving next Wednesday evening shortly after 6pm to Murcia airport. We won't reach our appartment until after 8 by which time the Polaris supermarket will be closed (as far as I know).  We will need a few essential supplies as we will have 3 children with us!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Ann,

If you drive the AP7 from Murcia to Mazarron (will cost a mere 5.10euro & the roads are really quiet, only 45mins, gets my vote everytime), then when you pop out on the RM3 (head towards Totana) turn off at Camposol (B) which has a large Consum supermarket open until 2115hrs(you should see it from the road to your left).  I'm sure there will be a supermarket in Los Alcazares, but at least this way you can buy ice cubes for your much needed G & T & they won't have melted by the time you get to CDA !!!

I have to say this is what we did on our last trip & I would certainly recommend it/do it again.  There is another plus to this, the Chinese on Camposol B is very handy, so you do the shop, get your Chinese (sit in or take away) & at least you don't have to worry about cooking as soon as you step in the door.  (Other restaurants are available, by the way!!!)

another option is to get a welcome pack and some ready cooked food. Carol Miller from garden 13 provides this service.

I usually go north 1 junction on the AP7 then via the C-3319, past the Polaris head office, then cut through Roldan onto the A30 then the new RM2 motorway.  When doing that I usually go 2 junctions further north on the AP7 and turn off to a big shopping centre on the right - clearly visible from the road, has a large supermarket (it is only 5 mins out of the way).

Clearly depends on your chosen route to Condado.

The nearest supermarket is in San Javier and only a couple of minutes from the airport. When leaving airport at the first roundabout take the exit signed San Javier. Straight on at next roundabout then turn left into commercial centre at next roundabout.  There is a Mercadona there along with various restaurants and shops. Can recommend the Chinese buffet. and saves cooking when you get home.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. I definately like the idea of getting a bite to eat before we get to the appartment!! I also like the idea of picking up some ice for a well deserved celebratory drink when we finally arrive at CDA.
