Hi

I'm just working out how many lights to fit in our 2 bed appartment. As there are two in each bedroom, does anyone think one will be enough if we blank one off???

Also, with three in the lounge area, do you actually need one in the kitchen itself?

Any advise from those who have already completed would be appreciated.

It depends on what lights you are fitting, wattage etc.  I have put two spots in each of the bedrooms, you could probably get away with one, but don't see why you would, also, unless you move it more central it may not look right - seems a lot more trouble than fitting two.

In the lounge/ kitchen - I would say definately have one in the kitchen, if anything skip one in the louge - but again maybe use single spots in each rather than having to blck them off. Obviously depends on the sort of lights you want!

Hi

One light might be enough in the bedrooms - we only have one in each room at the moment as I brought them with me from the UK and they give enough light and are fine.  Only problem you will have is the actually position of the light holes themselves - you might need to fill them both in and put one central light instead.  We took over the bedroom lights from the UK as the ones we used were much cheaper here.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to miss out a light in the kitchen -  I definately think you need one for cooking.  we used a bar spotlight again from ikea which was good value at 9.99 euro.. We ended up just putting small spotlights recessed in the ceiling in the two places in the lounge and hall area.  Got them in Brico for 12 euros for three so again really good value.  Ikea Steve (endpeg on here)  did all our lights for us and also put in an explair in the bathroom - steve's a god send for all us handless DIYers!
