we are in jardines 13 parking space no 1438 and people keep parking in our clearly numbered parking space,it is a problem as we then have to park in someone else's space.Does anyone else keep having this problem or does anyone have any ideas to stop it happening ie parking posts etc

Hi Tiffy

I have same problem garden 10 been over 3 times since completing and have a merc 230 continually in my allocated space, not a problem during winter months but like you I feel uncomfortable parking in someone elses space, it may have been better not to number the spaces but as they have next time I am over I will leave a polite note to see if this makes the car move. Up to this moment I have not seen the owner or indeed has the car moved.

I certainly think this may become a problem over the coming years.  It may well have been better to never have numbered them in the first place. Just take a moment to think about those people who back onto the supermarket area, I bet they have major probs!

In answer - leaving a polite note on the offenders windscreen is the only thing you can do and if you park in someone elses space, leave a note in your windscreen explaining your dilemma.

An additional question - we have my sister joining us in May and she will have her own car so we are wondering who will park where, as with previous posters, even though it should be quiet, we feel uncomfortable parking in others spaces.

Parking will always be a problem, we live here and by coincidence ourspace is behind our own back wall, normally as there are not many about we get to use our own numbered space. Sods law when we return with weekly shopping we have to park elsewhere. What we have noticed is everyone parks near the ends or gaps so they dont have so far to walk so numbering them may not be the answer but first come first served. We all have one space allocated. los Naranjos have no numbers which is probably better.

How does the disabled parking work because they are all on the end and inJardines all numbered? I know the disabled space next to mine is for next door which is advertised by a rental company but if it was your space presumably you would have to give it up to a disbaled person.

There will always be a space somewhere so i would not let it bother me.

Oh crikey, I'm sorry but I will be man enough to own up to being someone who does sometimes park in other people's spaces.

In my defence though, whenever me and Mrs WW have been over there, we are usually the only car in our whole line of about 20 spaces. I have to agree that when things start to get busy, I will stick to our own space.

If  we are being completely honest and I had parked in someone's space and the owner of that space put a polite note under my wiper, I would move the car imediately to my own space and probably be too embarassed to park anywhere else for the rest of my stay!

I know it's pure lazyness and convience but it is very hard to fight human nature and park our car 15 empty spaces away from our apartment when there doesn't appear to be anyone else there.

Sorry...........does this make me a bad monkey?

WW

Hi

Our apartment in Jardin 5 overlooks the wide walkway leading side on to the "surgery" We are an end one too, however our parking  slot is a few apartments further on towards the supermarket.

The parking plot directly below us is a wheelchair access one & there was always a different car parked there while we were over a few weeks ago, though there  are about four spaces facing the sports area. but no one seemes to be using those.

We stayed in an end apartment in twelve the last time we were over & couldnt park in the alloted space. Some cars just seemed to be abandond. parking at an angle. taking up two slots.

Goodness only knows what wil happen during peak holiday times.

Jan

Don't worry Jan,

The other Polaris resorts only seem to have a maximum occupancy of around 30-40%, even at holiday times. Even accounting for there being more full time residents on Condado, I don't think anyone will ever be pushed for a parking space.

We should go 'Center Parcs style' anyway and leave the cars at the gate and cycle everywhere other than arrival and departure. Now that will keep us fit !!!

Regards,

We're really lucky with our parking space on jardin 5 but Polaris seem to think so too.  We've arrived twice to find a skip or jcb in the parking space and on another occasion we found a toilet and a bidet.

Our spanish neighbours, of which our parking space is at the side of their apartment, seem to use the one's on either side of ours (which are vacant apartments).  Their official parking space is about 15 spaces down the jardin.

At the other side of our block, we have about 8 additional parking spaces which are not numbered and are just as easy for us to get to.

At the moment it doesn't really bother us if someone uses our parking space - there are more than enough spaces for everybody.  I've only ever seen about 3-4 cars maximum parked along the length of the garden.

I think the worst parking problems will be in the penthouses. Polaris will have to hold an advanced driving course for owners, I was over there last weekend and someone parked behind me and beside me, now granted I am not the best driver in the world but there is NO room to reverse...

we are on Jardin 7 right beside the bar and the supermarket and we can never get into our space - have just come back from two weeks holidays and were lucky to get our space twice!  A brand new red merc was usually parked in our space - better than the hire care we had, but really p**sed the kids off that some selfish person took our great space!

to be fair to polaris there are enough parking spaces at condado to hold a major golf championship.if you csnt find a spot now you never will.remember the spanish have a different mentality to ours and we are in their country.i can understand kids being upset if it rains for a week but to move a spot down is hardly earth shattering.just tell them you have 5 parking spaces and rent one out.

btw if anyone wants a no parking cone im selling them at a tenner each

I think the worst thing PW did was to number the spaces. There is plenty of room for everyone.  I can't see it being a problem to get parked near to your apartment, even at the sports area and supermarket. I personally wouldn't be that bothered if someone was parked in my numbered space as long as there was another for me to park.

Hi, Carol Anne

Yes I think your views are the same as ours.

We have an end two bed & our parking space is quite a few spaces away from our apartment.

The nearest spaces , either side of the pathway are for disabled drivers & I think the only time we will feel annoyed about the positioning of our alloted space is if we arive very late & have suit cases to carry.

I have suggested to friends of ours who are going over in a few weeks time is to unload their car in the nearest space take their luggage into the apartment &  then move the car down.

This is what we will do if there is a vacant spot

Jan

Hi,

Also happened in J12, as I am sure it does in every Jarden.

Slightly annoying but nothing to get too upset about, just wonder how bad it will get when things are up and running properly and it gets busy!!

When we purchased the our numbered space was directly behind the flat and one of the many reasons that helped us chose the particular plot. Now we find our space is 10-15 spaces away so aren't too happy. If we parked there then the people in the flat directly in front of it may equally be disappointed.

Overall feel no numbering is now best.
