Just seen a message from Jill
We finally have the Internet ready... Polaris will start installing on Tuesday...THIS Tuesday
Internet in any home for a reasonable price. They are also doing this FREE of charge till June for the inconvenience caused.
If you sign with Polaris for an 18 month contract of service you can get the internet modem free of charge, you must have an NIE number to sign up, which you got before you closed.
This is very good news for us and the website.
We will put the tariff sheet up on the page tomorrow.
Jill

All,
Have just received the package price list from Dringman ( Thanks Dave )
View it here ptan_files/guiadeservicios.pdf
Cheapest Internet connection is 1Mb = €32 + IVA = €37.12/Month
You can use AreaNet ( Prepay Card) in your apartment if you have a phone line (€13.34/Month)
Not exactly Cheap

Wonder if the landline phone connections are now also ready ? Hopefully it will be like the other resorts, i.e a free handset and no line rental to pay if you just want incoming calls plus internal dialling to Condado and other PW resorts.
This option will suit us down to the ground and I imagine many other non-resident owners. It's been a long time coming, hopefully it's just around the corner !

Hi Chris,
The phones are supposed to be available soon as well, Internet from Tuesday. Like you I only want the line, not the phone package, to call internally, and I assume allow Areanet connection?
Nothing in the leaflet about this . But I'm told that the free internal call should be available.

Hi Phil & All
Stuff that then, back to looking for alternatives, when will PW learn they would make more profit if they had competitive pricing.
As mobile roaming charges are coming down due to an EU directive see link below for info, hopefully we will soon be able to get reasonable cost mobile access using a dongle thingy? Has anyone used mobile broadband in Condado and if so how good or bad was it???

what is going on here, I spoke to PW today and for 80 Euro they will install a modem this allows you to use the AreaNet cards, I asked twice for clarification that if I went down this route there would be no monthly fee, both people I spoke said NO FEE, pay the install and use the card, this PDF contradicts what I was told.
Why oh why can't they understand there own tarrifs before leading me down the garden path?
None the wiser now

Hi Dan,
I'm not saying that that you do or don't have to pay the line rental to use the AreaNet at Home connection, just that the info says that "a Polaris telecom Phone line" is required. Knowing how good PW are are documenting things this could mean anything
Ho Hum.
I'll email them next Tuesday and see if I can get a straight answer. ( Yep, I live in hopes )
