Security

No matter what system is applied there will always be problems and  it will never be 100% fulproof, but I do agree that something has to be done even if we have to dip into our pockets again.  Don't think that there will be many outsiders coming to Condado to eat or drink as we are quite along way from anywhere, would think that it will be the golfing community that is more likely to use the foro after a round of golf and hopefully they will be respectful of private property.

Firstly public having access to the Faro isn’t a problem as far as I am concerned its as ptan says more peoples around the shops and bars the better especially over the next year or so, that said at PW bar prices don’t think they will be rushing from Camposol to use our bars and restaurants. The problem is that once in the car park visitors would have unchallenged access to the rest of the resort. From recollection I can’t see a problem having an entrance from the outer ring road into the Faro car park the fact that PW haven’t done so is for them to sort out.  As kev1 has said it is our fence and we pay for it and the security, if PW wish to have the Faro open to the public that’s OK by me but they should not and must not be allowed to do this without ensuring the security of the gated community we are supposed to be in.

Swipe card/fob systems are now very sophisticated and computer monitored, so any card that is issued to an individual which is lost or stolen, can be cancelled immediately just like your credit card can be, Numerous establishments use this type of technology to restrict access like health clubs, shops (like makro), hotels and offices, if an individual card is lost it’s just cancelled and a new one issued. The cost of any such system would be recovered by not paying to have security staff on gates covered by electronic systems. Its correct to say no system is going to be perfect but this would be far better than the, worse than useless situation we are currently paying for.

Again if you would like to improve the security of the resort ask the presidents to look at the options available.

I think that most of the good points have been covered.  However,  we have had another property for the last six years and it has been robbed as many times as that.  Sometimes by tradesmen, such as pool cleaners and passing builders and at other times by kids. Sorting out the insurance is a real pain and involves taking out a denuncia at the Police station, which can really disrupt a holiday.    Being 20K from Mazaron doesn't put us beyond these people.

Since these things do happen, I think that the sooner the security issue is sorted out the better.  Like most people I have just sailed through security with a polite wave.  I assume that our security guards take their instructions from the same place as Mar Menor, La Torre, El Vale & Hacienda del Requalme, because I have never once been stopped.

Having two lanes (Residents & Visitors) seems to make some sense.  Once an owner or guest arrives, they should register their car reg. & flash their passport.  After that, the OCR should allow for quick access.  If I don't enter CDA for 24 or 48 hours, I would expect the system to reset and then I would have to go throught the registration process again. 

I am sure that if the system is operated as it is intended, it will be a great improvement on the current system.  I only hope that this happens before one of us is complaining about something that has already happened.
