Just returned from a fantastic few days at Condado.
We completed last July, and all of the necessary Direct debits were completed as required for the notary.
In October 08 the water and elec meters were fitted. Iberdrola took their connection charge and their payments started by DD.
However Urbaser only started to take DD for the water usage. When I checked in our mail box a few days ago there was a connection charge Final demand letter from Urbaser dated 22nd April 09. This has to be paid at their offices in Alhama.
We went into the offices and was told that, had we not paid this straight away they would have cut off the water supply without any further notice. We paid the 198 Euro and then checked with our bank who told us that they had tried to collect the connection fee by DD but it was rejected because they (Urbaser) had not completed the DD form correctly.
So as I said JUST A WORD OF WARNING If you have been connected and have NOT paid a connection fee check/or get someone to check your mailbox.I would hate anyone to go out to use their apartment and have no water, as having once been cut off it can take many weeks to be reconnected and you will be charged a connection fee again.
PS I spoke to PW Customer service about this and guess what - if you are connected to the main supply- They dont want to know.
