Golf in August

Hi All,

I am looking for golf partners for the summer holidays.  We are on Condado from 30th July to August 16th & I would like to play a few rounds during this time.  I know most of the courses in the Murcia region & how to get to most of them I am happy to play anywhere.......Roda, Hacienda de Alamo, La Finca, etc etc  I was hoping our own practice facilities would have been open by now, but recent pictures suggest no chance.  Can't help thinking PW have missed a trick there.  That area could have been ready for business with a small shack selling range balls, lessons, chipping comps etc with a temp bar.

Anybody interested in a round or 2 please let me know & i'll book some times

Hi Skell,sounds great.

We are over from 8th to 18th of august,and i would love a game or 2(the second game will depend on how the shopping goes).

The main purpose of our trip is to get our place ready,but obviously it is a holiday as well.

Is it o.k. to leave it to you to book something,as it sounds like you have more knowledge than me of the local courses.

Guess mid week would be best,cheaper and quieter.

Monday 10th i have an appointment,so 11th-14th would be great  for me.

I was having a look on a web site called club murcia that seem to have some good deals.

Maybe they could do something for us?

Better go to the range i guess,get some practice(playing of 14 at the mo).

Over from 24th July - 8th August. Unfortunately none of my other friends accompanying me play.  So would love a game which would have to be in my second week.

Gave bbq drawings to friend of mine as he said nnnoooooooooooo problem.  I work with stainless steel and will get it done for you.  Not seen him since.  Hopefully he's gonna surprise me at our next golf meeting,

We're out from the 30th July for a couple weeks and like you Pete it's a holiday combined with getting the apartment sorted, still if i'm a good boy and do all that I've said i'm gonna do then I should be able to slip off for a couple of games if there's room for me in your group.

If it's ok with you Nick will you sort the times and options or just let me know otherwise.

Think I'm going to bye a set of clubs to leave out there.

Take them one way and stick them in the wardrobe(if there's space after the misses has had her big shop).

Hi Pete,

That's good thinking, the cost of carrying everytime on the flights means in 2/3 trips you probably could of got yourself a decent set to keep out there. I was extremely fortunate that my wife, mum and father in law all chipped in to get me a 2nd hand set off Ebay at christmas. So on our last furniture selection visit I bought the older set with us and left them in the wardrobe waiting. Seriously cant wait to get out there, meet up with you all and play some golf under the sun

One little thing though,it's our wedding anniversary on the 11th,so I'd better not play on that day.

She has to put up with my golf addiction for 364 days a year(they close the course on Xmas day),so I'd better do the right thing that day.

Off to the range to get some practice,don't want to be beat by a gooner!

Alright Pete you've no need to worry trust me!! Neither have the rest of you come to that!!!

Nick fix em up and i'll do me best. Just for the first two days we gotta be sorting bed clothes and like so cant go missing then, after that is fine so 2nd /3rd August onwards is cool for me.

It sees to have all the courses around us,and some bargains.

My new(second hand)clubs should be hear today,so better give them a swing.

Looks like we have found a tenant for our house in the uk,so hopefully will be over for the hole winter.

just got back and i had a game at hacienda de alamo,20 mins away, really good track, lots of sand, excellent greens, we just walked on and it cost 110E for 2 blokes and a buggy, this was at 4.30 ish, insurance included and they do ask for a handicap cert, but werent that bothered when we said we didnt have them on us, we just had to give our uk golf clubs address, hope this helps.

Hi folks just a word of caution for those hoping to play Golf in August!

Today I played at La Torre tee'd off 3pm under Twilight Deal?

4 off us Started but due to heat only two of four players completed 2 of us were completely exhausted after 13 holes this is purely down to the heat.  we had more than enough water drinking about half litre per hole.

I would say to anyone arranging a game in August ( temps aver 40 deg ) would be well to play only 9 holes?

As a resident who is somewhat accustomed to the heat i was one of the 2 who had to limp back after 13 holes ?

So pay full wack and tee off early or suffer and believe me we sufferred

A few cold beers in the new Al Kazar Clover was well enjoyed even at Polaris Prices, atmosphere was great on the Opening night.
