Club house

 Finally some positive news.

IRM have finally completed the purchase of the land from polaris on which a club house can be built.

There is a strong rumour that they will move the old glass prefab sales office over and turn it into a clubhouse.

In these financially stretched times that does seem a very viable option as i have always asked them why couldnt they use one of the 2 unused  buildings.

Seems to be conflicting information re Clubhouse,Jill's site reporting that it is to be buit next to Penthouses.Suppose we will just have to wait and see.As long as it happens,I'm sure no one will mind where it is situated.

 Thats correct, They are moving the old sales office across to the golf club entrance between the pentohuses-he says hopefully!

Is this the silver clad building down at the bottom by the closed security gates,  with the terrace upstairs? Can't remember how big it is but hey, something is better than nothing.

 Yep that's the one.   We have been told that the banks have had quotes to move it over to the land between P7 & P8,  i think it's a prefab building so would be possible. Yes, it two story with an outside terrace on the upper floor so would be quite good for a temp club house ( better than nothing )

Guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

 R we really getting a Club House?. Well this is going to create a problem.  Do I walk to the clover for a drink or do I go to the clubhouse, we are in the middle of the two, and isn't it a nice problem to have.  Just remembered we should have the sports zone as well to choose from. Give a woman a choice now thats a really big problem

Sounds good, though with all the false dawns we've had before I'll wait until it's actually built and open for business before I get too excited.

Just one thought though... if the clubhouse and the sports bar open, will there be enough year-round business to support both of them and the Clover too?  Of course I'm all for choice and competition, but I seriously doubt that 3 bars on CdA at the moment will be sustainable.

 I believe they can all be sustainable - The clubhouse will have its own market with golfers alone (although people not playing golf will visit.) - Having played the course last week they is no where to have a drink or breakfast before or any refreshemnt or snadiwhc after.  Its nice to finish with a drink or refreshment when looking at your scorecard.  The clover didn't open until 4pm.  Also believe the sports area will have a market as not everyone will go to the clover.   Only my opinion.  but am confident they all 3 can be utilised especially when more visitors will come to the course with a clubhouse.

Pity they can't move this one over.....

Great news if it eventuates...after my last round in August I drove the buggy upto the area in question to see what the view would be like.  From the front of the area the view over 9 and 18 is fantastic, plus there are views of some of the other holes (down 10 and also 8 in the distance).  That would make the terrace looking over the course a great spot to enjoy a beer after a round.

As far as whether CdA can sustain 3 bars that is a good question. 

My view is the sports bar will do fine...clover is a long walk for many of the gardens in the jardines, I'm assuming it'll show sports, and it'll be smaller.

Clubhouse will get all the golfers from the society plus if a clubhouse is built I think you will see a huge increase in numbers playing the course.

Personally I think the clover may struggle if the numbers on CdA don't increase...but going on this summer numbers have certainly increased a lot from past years and if Al Kasar gets these new shops that would help the clover immensely (and of course new mgmt that may know the meaning of service).

If, and its still a big If, this all happens CdA will be moving along (at last)...new bar, new clubhouse, shops in Al Kasar, new local airport

Just speculating. Could the old sales office, be the shell building of the 1st hotel on CDA ? Or is that just wishful thinking. I know its not large, but you could get quite a few quality rooms in the space available.

Does anyone know if there's a photo of the building anywhere?  We've only been out a few times and i can't remember what it looks like, although to be fair we've never managed to venture very far when we have been! 

How do you get rid of the blo*dy ad's. At the bottom of my last post the are three ad's nothing to do with me, I didn't want them or put them there. What is the world comimg too?
