Hi , I read with intrest all your posts regarding what some of you have paid for your electric connection charges, it seems that we have been charged a great deal more our bill came to €247.00 has any one else paid any thing like this amount when we asked our Sol about such a high charge they informed me that it was due to the amount of power going into the complex,
Can anyone cast any light on this as does seem a lot compaired to the rest on the complex and I presume we are all fed of the same mains electric.
Regards
Robbie / Barbara.

Robbie/Barbara,
We paid 247.09 Euro's for our connection, since the connection a Direct Debit of 6.11 Euro's has been taken from the account, I don't understand why the connection fee's from one apartment to another are different, maybe it depends on what level your apartment is Ground, 1st , 2nd or 3rd, Don't see why it should make any difference!!!!

We paid 166 euros according to the contract but as yet have not been able to confirm this from the bank account.
I think someone mentioned before that you can have a different power input to your apartment, which would cost more due to bigger cable, breakers etc. We weren't asked which we wanted, but the contract says our supply is rated at 6.9 kwatts. Bridget was out last weekend and had no problems, although I don't think the air con/heating got used much.

Hi All
There are two levels of breaker that is fitted ,one at 6 and one at 8 ,We chose thje higher one because the lower one could possibly trip out with an overload ,ie aircon washer boiler kettle etc on at the same time.
We have paid 221 euro for the initial set up and 4 euro last month on dd,I think that is like a standing charge could be wrong. Will see what next month brings

Hi All ,
I to have heard that there are to levels of breaker that can be fitted but we where not given the option to choose which one we wanted , a our Sol says that we have paid for the 8 or 9 Kwatt type and that is why we were charged the higher amount, (does anyone know how to check what breaker has been fitted? ) we have also had €6.11 taken from our account can only assume this is standing charge.
At least we now know that we have not been over charged for the connection.
See you all at Christmas or New Year.
Robbie / Barbara.

Hi All
Got home yesterday. Everything in the apartment was fine. I have paid 247.09 to Endesa on a driest debit for the connection but nothing else. The electric worked fine and nothing tripped out. Whilst there I paid the IBI, Non-resident tax and had two wills prepared. I felt a lot better for getting everything up to date. The IBI has to be paid by 21/12/2009 or you will incur more charges. The tax has to be filed and paid by 31/12/2009 or you will incur interest at 20%.
The weather by the way was glorious 25 every day, feeling the cold here now that I am home.
The development looked lovely the gardens are really being looked after, the guys have been trimming and cuting back, they look rreally lovely this time of year. There was a problem in bock 4 on Sunday. The boss and I had a walk around the development, we heard water gushing from the garage when we went down in the pump room, water was gushing out of the pipe flooding the pump room but also causing a very serious problem as it was gushing right next to the electrics in the pump room. Alphonso was called and they did come out straight away but it had the potential to be very serious.

Thanks Tracy. It's great when recent visitors post. Good job you had a walk around, eh? I have been really longing to go out, even just for a week-end. I need my 'fix'. It's not going to happen for a while though. Too much on. Never mind. Thanks again.

Hi all
We recently moved in on Phase 2 and seem to be the only people there although different potential new buyers have been brought to the apartment next door to us to have a look. On builder's water and electricity so meters have not been installed yet. Still a few problems to sort out like the locks on the communal gates being absent or broken or we just dont have the right key, showers by the pools, electric garage doors, lights around the grounds not working etc. But who do you speak to for what - never really know whether I should contact Paco or Alfonso or does it not matter. Paco has been great though at getting stuff done. Just taking on one thing at a time. Recently had our sewage outflow pouring into the garage but Paco got folk to sort out the drains - they were working for a couple of days. They are still working on the road up to Coto Real - hopefully not long until it's open up to the roundabout.
At least we have Sky TV thanks to Tom, although I think he wasn't that keen to install it for us because we are the first to complete and he might have a bit of a wait for the others. However he knocked a road block into my wife's foot as he was driving past and mashed her toe - blood everywhere - so I think he felt he had to do it after that. We bailed out on the wifi installation at 340 euros - seemed quite a lot.
Did any of you get post box keys? We don't seem to have one and no idea which box would be ours either.
Does anyone know a local shop in Sabi that sells electricity surge protectors?
Any advice on these things much appreciated.

Hi Randl,
Glad to here you have finally moved in as you must have been waiting forever, hope you do not have any problems sorting out any snagging as they should be up to speed by now with the practice they have had on Phase 1,
My advice would be to contact them all at least that way you will get one of them to do the repair .
Regarding the electric surge protector there are a few places that may sell them on the main road going up to the rounabout by the petrol station in Sabbi, if you walk past the chinese supermarket ( you could even try there as the sell everything) there is an electrical shop just further up on the left, if they do not have them try the hardware store just before the roundabout if no luck right across the road from the hardware store there is another hardware shop,
See you at Christmas if you are out there.

Hi Robbie/Barbara
Thanks for that. We'll sadly be in rainy (hopefully snowy later) Glasgow for Christmas but the inlaws will likely use the apartment then! Hopefully we'll come back at New Year and maybe see you then.

Hi All .
It seems the Town Council are wasting no time in sending out the IBI tax demands , we have just received ours from our SOL. Seems they tax you for eveything the same as over here the breakdown of the bill is ,
IBI for Property €227.72, / IBI for Garage €50.34./ Plusvalia for Property €27.92./ Plusvalia for Garage €3.10. This comes to a grand total of €309.08 just hope they are going to spend all the money the get with care and not fritter it away .
Has anyone else received there bill and are they around the same ? , I now Laurden has been to the Town hall and paid here bill,
We have not been out since Sept, has there been any movement on getting Mains Water conected.
Roll on Xmas hopefully get some sun instead of all this wind & rain.

Hi Robbie/Barbara
I paid IBI 271.80 for the apartment and garage, the amount we pay is worked out by the sq meter of the property. So if you have a large garage area and lock up then you pay more, same goes for the apartment, the ground floor apartments will presumably pay more as they have the larger terrace areas.
I paid my plus valie on completion of the property Jan 08.
The Non- resident tax can be worked out using the amount that you have paid on the IBI bill.
The local authorites have all the details of each property owner using the owners NIE number and solicitors details. No getting away from TAX even in Spain big borther is watching.

Hi Freddy
If you´re out in Spain, you can go up to Manilva and collect your bill yourself from the office next to the police station and pay it at the bank.Once you´ve paid the first bill you can then have it put on direct debit for future years. Will you be out before Xmas?
