course open

Well Tim you were the only one informed that the course was open for play today.  We set off to play Mar Menor at 9am and phoned them before we left Condado to see if  Condado was open yet. They knew nothing except it would be open shortly so we played Mar Menor. What a bummer to return, go to clubhouse to check on progressand find out it had been open all day because it was quiet. Fees were taken manually and recorded on paper slip.

.Don't get too excited though cos it will be open tomorrow while it  is quiet, closed xmas day and after that who knows? If a lot of you come out wanting to play they won't be able to cope with the paperwork.

I wanted to join but got a form which I will have to take to la Torre or Mar Menor cos they can't put it on the computer!

As they wouldn't take my 1200E I played the 10th & 11th before the sunset just to say I played on the opening day!

I have just phone EV course to change my booking,  after checking was informed (without doubt) CDA golf course is not open. What a blo*dy mess.

I'll leave it till I'm out there and try to change my itinerary then.

Just in case people do not know PW are holding an open competition starting in January and playing all the PW golf courses over the coming months. As usual they informed no residances about this and I came accrossit just by luck. I tried to enter but was told you had to be a member of the Spanish Federation, which I am, so I told them to enter my wife and myself. Its starting 16th Jan. so we are looking forward to playing all the courses in a competition.  Get on to the golf web and check it out.

Spoke to girl behind desk in proshop who told me she has a shop manager and another girl in the shop. There are 3 marshalls on the course and no permanent pro. A pro from one of the other PW courses will visit to give lessons etc.

Sorry to sound dumb, but is the course likely to be open on 26th to 30th? If so what are the rates

Probably open with 2 playing with a buggy for 90E or twilight from 2pm at 30E

Managed to play the course twice (off Yellows) and really enjoyed it, considering how new it was.

A few of the holes have a real risk/reward element and overall the course was reasonably forgiving for wayward shots, except those with water . I expect it will get tougher as the roug hand the plants grow up a bit.

Great that the course is properly open now.

Does anyone know the best way to go about booking a round and any idea how far ahead you can book?

When I played there Tues & Wed we couldn't book - just turn up, pay & play. Played it twice, course looked fantastic & played fantastic, I wasn't so good.
