Hi everyone
Having been a frequent visitor to Arenal over the past 4 Years, I have seen the development from wasteland, to looking really nice when golf course nearly complete, and then back to wasteland when all work stopped and the threat of no golf course materialised.
Well, fast forward to the present and things are looking very positive indeed. Phase one looking stunning including the park area they have now re-done after this at one stage looked like a overgrown mess.
Phase 2 where we have our apartment right through to phase 7, all building work is now complete and cranes have left site. Work has now commenced on the golf course and is due to be complete in June. (This looks possible, the course now actually resembles a course again instead of a overgrown jungle).
As promised the tropical gardens are now in full swing, pathways, lighting and plantation is ongoing, this is going to look really nice.
3 out of the 5 roundabouts in and around Arenal are now complete and are looking great.
Having walked around the whole site everyday last week, we were reminded what we actually bought into. The develpment and its location is first class.
Yes there are still problems, like the issue of no club house as yet, and paddle tennis which we are still no wiser, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Please enjoy the photos we have uploaded.
PS. We have been told that Arenal is now to be called Benelmadena Resenditial Golf.

Glad to hear this news Ant. Thanks for posting.
Makes me want to spend more time at our place on Phase 1 and as luck would have it, I'm now in a position to do so! Bring on the golf.

Hi Adrian
With regards to the roundabout. The one next to the club house has not been started yet. But the next one down, by phase 4 has been finished.
To view the photos, they are in Forums(top navigation bar) and then click the Community photo galleries link.
Hope this helps.

I think you have only viewed the 1st page of photos. If you click in the date box there are a further 2 pages of pictures dated 26th of march. But please do post some more pictures, when you go over as the course should look a little better.Let me know if you find the pictures.

Hi Ant & Jo,
Many thanks i have got all of the photos, thanks for all the effort that you have put in, i can see that there has been some input from the developer/etc or whoever has taken the responsibility of trying to sort things out,but how much labour have they got on site as most of the work seems cosmetic which could be carried out by a handfull of men,the course still looks very bad,i know we must be thankfull that someone is doing something out there, but i remember ,maybe you do as well that hole 1 and 2 and fairways etc looked an absolute picture several years, your recent picture of the same holes has spoilt my fish and chips,as i say i will take a look around on my next visit and take a few shots.
Many thanks
Adrian

Hi Adrian,
There are 3-5 men working each day on the golf course they have been working hard on the greens so far which are now starting to look much better,in the last few days they have been spraying the rest of the course too.The water system on the golf course seems to have been fixed as well as it comes on at various times during the day.The grass is starting to grow again on the fairways which is a positive sign but it will take a few months for the course to be brought back up to the standard it was a few years ago.
Work is progressing well on the tropical gardens at least 20 men are there most days and the area is close to planting stage in fact some gardeners were on site today.
The road down to phase 6/7 is still closed off they are laying massive concrete pipes under the road down towards the coast so I would say there is some real progress being made at present on the development.
I'll post some photos later on during the week when I return home
Dave.

Hi Adrian
Sorry to have spoiled your fish and chips.
I remember well how nice holes 1 and 2 looked, as I was living there and my terrace overlooked them at the time.
But if you had seen the course, before they resumed ,you would have died. No joking it was 2 to 3 foot deep and resembled wasteland.

I remember walking the first few holes behind the club house before they shut off access. I remember how remarkable the fairways and greens were, along with the interesting nature of each hole, especially the first hole with a neighbouring swimming pool, should my shank return! The second hole is across a ravine. Looks very tasty and waiting to receive many a ball. Further down is the driving range and putting green behind. Then were the holes set among the water course on phase 3/4 along with the lake itself. It really did look promising. I hope it gets back to where it was and they finish and stock the clubhouse/driving range. Can somebody please enlighten me as to this tropical garden? Where is it, what is the plan and how big is it? Encouraging news about the hotel, especially the Spa. Gracias ;-)

Samste - don't worry about the odd text you are seeing. Those are just formatting instructions that you wouldn't normally see. However, if you post something and there's a problem (dropped connection or something) and then you repost that same message, for some reason it records the formatting instructions (known as HTML).
Neutral - how do I access the photographs you have uploaded please?

Hi To Everyone,
Thought i would just make this post to keep you all up to date,i have just returned from AG after 9 days of wall to wall sunshine, the weather has been great.so many things to tell you about re-our development, but firstly how expensive is it in spain now,i found everything very expensive ,with the euro, anyway the development.
1.There is progress being made to the golf course, the grass on fairways and the greens are coming along ,and plenty of water is going on them,i have seen golf staff feeding the grass, and cutting the greens etc,so the golf looks more possitive.
2.I can also report on the Tropical Garden, this is a big project ,and plenty of money is being thrown at this, there is a childrens park, the rides etc have been installed, there is an outdoor Gym,again all the equiptment has been installed, there is extensive paved areas, walkways ,seating ,etc,
3.No progress on clubhouse stiil derelict,no progress on tennis and paddle courts.
4.There is extensive sewerage works being carried out at the bottom of the development
5.Aparently the only apartments that are for sale are the remaining ones on phase 3,starting at 183.000 euros, all the other phases are not being sold,as you are aware there some properties being lived in on phase 4,but not many
6.On the down side ,the dog fouling all over the developement is a disgrace, also outside the schools the litter is a disgrace.
Anyway must go ,but more to follow next week
Adrian

Thanks Samste
That sounds far more positive than in a long time I can't wait to go again. Let's hope it's only the start of things progressing on AG.
Can't wait to hear more.

Thanks for the update Samste.
I can't understand why people don't clean up after their dogs. It's something that is implicit in being a down owner. We took our dogs to one of the designated dog walking areas but never again. It's like walking through a minefield of dog excrement. Appalling.
Having spent a few months there with our two terriers I really feel Spain isn't the place for dogs.

Lets hope dog owners are responsible when they use the "Tropical gardens and Childrens park " and clean up after their pets.

Maybe there should be a doggie toilet similar to Paloma Park.
