Just an update from me, having spent the last weekend out there.
Saturday's weather reminded me just why we bought the place! Beautiful sunshine and warm. A chance to lose the socks, long trousers and jumper for sandals, polo shirt and socks. Wonderful.
The golf course is gradually coming back to life though we heard from a resident that there is talks that this might not be completed after all. Anybody know anything about this?
The tropical garden looks like it will be quite decent. You get a good view of it from the terracing of the restaurant/bar at Benalmadena Golf.
The roundabouts that have been finished are fantasticly creative. The ones that haven't are covered with the previously mentioned excrement.
Frustrating that the access road to the driving range and around the back of the large pond is still closed but there you go.
Vegetation around Phase 2 in particular is maturing well, as is Phase 1 (see phase 1 forum). Rest of urbanisation needs to catch up.
Anybody know if there are any shops/supermarkets or bars planned for the area? All they seem to be building now are more schools.

Hi GMCG,
I have just posted some recent photos of the tropical garden , phases 4.phases 5,phases 8.etc.The photos were taken around 27/4/2010.There were quiet a few men working on the tropical garden, quiet a few men working on the sewage works, and a few men working on the golf course,i got the impresion that things were ticking along, but dont expect things to suddenly complete, and open, the club house remains derelict,no activity there are,no signs of tennis or paddle courts being prepared.I did hear that no other apartments after phase 3 were being sold, the developer aparently is trying to sell the remaining properties on phase 3 before moving on,i know that there are a few people living on phase 4,but no more.On a happy note things are getting done. When we left alot of of the childrens park was complete, and there was an outside gym with various pieces of equiptment, also alot of seating areas had been completed.
Speak soon
Adrian

Hi Guys
Don't bother with this referral I have seen them advertising on lots of sites, if you do go onto their site you will note the complete lack of professionalism about the main page with not even an address of where they are located just a limited company no!!!!! Be warned.

Hello Samste,
Just arrived back from Arenal and things are looking pretty impressive. During the week we were there, thy the green keepers were working on the course 7 days a week, the final two roundabouts were under construction, and the lower phases had their final layer of tarmac on the roads. With reference to what your son reported back to you, the course looks in pretty good condition to us, and we are golfers ourselves, especially comparing to our last visit 12 weeks ago.
The development is now going into its final stages, which we thought we would never see and from 18 months ago when the course turned to waste land and all building work stopped, we are delighted to say the least.
We have uploaded about 10 pics of the course and surrounding areas,(the photos are in several batches 10 July,11th of July and 12th of July) let us know what you think.
Regards
Mr and Mrs Franks

I was out there last week and saw 3 people out playing on the phase 4 golf course as a trial run,I'm not too sure if the course will open or be just ready for play there is no club house only an empty sales office unless its going to be used as a temporary club house!!!!

The garden and park areas have not been opened yet but we have been told that they will be handed over to the community soon. Workmen arrived to start work on the club house this morning. Last week they starting clearing an area of waste ground at the bottom of phase 3 which we think may be for Padel courts. There has also been a meeting last week about the golf course and another one is planned for the end of Feb.

Just got back from a brief visit to our apartment on phase 3. The whole site is looking much better now. the clubhouse is being worked on daily and is probably 6-8 weeks from completion. 9 holes are already open and there is a small portable office for sales of tickets. 10euros for residents, 15 for Antequera golf members (not sure why) and 20 for non-residents. I was told the whole course will be open in 4-6 weeks so prepare for some wayward shots.
