Warning - Polaris/Zurich Insurance Policies

Just a note of caution.  Polaris/Zurich do not seem to be sending out any reminders this year.  I just happened to be checking the policy this morning and - fortuitously - realized that it was due to expire at midnight tonight!!  I had a previous quote from a Co called Intasure for £166 (2 bed apartment - buildings, contents, accidental damage - including damage by renters - which you need to ask for with the policy as it is not standard).  I shudder to think what may have happened had anything nasty happened and I was uninsured.  Arlene.

I contacted polaris as my Zurich policy is due end of July, They offered me an alternative with Axa for much cheaper than the 229 euros I paid last year. they want 178 euros for a 3 bed ground floor on Jardine 12. with Axa for similar cover. hope that helps anyone looking to compare quotes.

I paid 229 euro's with zurich last year when some got reduced to 211. So i got in touch with them this year to get a reduction and they offered me the same cover with axa for 170 euro's. So haggle.

Thanks for the warning but to late for me! asI forgot my insurance was up on 1st July, so while checking my bank account in Spain, Zurich have taken out 245 for insurance without any notification.

 I got my insurance through PW / Zurich and it automatically renewed last year.

Who do you speak to at Polaris about it?

We have used Linea Directa, the Spanish side of Direct Line.

We have used them for years with home insurance and car insurance.

Always found them to be the best price and good service when you need you make a claim.

All in English too.

I am with Intrasure, seem very good/proffessional but luckily have had no need to call them. Paying £9.90 a month for a 2-bed and no big hike when the renewal came through.
