You have until June 2011 to pay this tax. Go to spanishtaxforms.com for an inexpensive way to do this. This guys complete your form and just take them to your bank to pay No point on doing this till about April 2011.

Hi Mark
Would agree with the comments about using Spanish Tax forms. We are also going to use them this year, However, I would disagree with Mad Golfer about when the tax is due to be paid.
The Non residents income tax is to be paid by 31st December following the calander year it is due, i.e. 2009's tax is due by 31st December 2010.
The Spanish equivalent of council tax the IBI is paid in May each year, and I think this might be what Mad Golfer is thinking about.
As you have only just completed, you will only pay a pro-rata amount and as you mentioned, it won't be due until december 2011, although Spanish Tax forms will keep you right.
Cheers
Simon

The non-residents tax runs for the calendar year but I am sure you have until the 30 June the following year to pay before you are fined but yes spanish tax forms will keep you right - great service!

As there seems to be so many views about when Form 210 has to be completed I contacted Spanish Tax Forms who have advised that the tax is payable a year in arrears i.e. 2009 tax has to be paid by 31 December 2010.
I clearly paid out my money too soon as I paid my 2009 tax in June 2010. I will be holding onto my much needed cash next year until I have to pay them.

Owning a Spanish property can be confusing for non-residents as it can be difficult to understand the various local taxes, connection fees for utilities bills and the importance of a Spanish Will.
