markets

Hi All,

          Can anyone tell me if the markets will be open in Mazarron in December and if there are any local markets

also open, planning a trip close to Christmas for a nice break.

There's a market in Alhama on a Tuesday I think it is...starts about 8am and is pretty good for fresh foods.  Good place to stock up on fresh vege and fruit. There's also a guy who does the roast chickens to take away.

There is one in Totana (different day but can't remember which one).  This is much bigger and has a lot of stands for shoes, clothes, kitchen items etc plus the full range of foods.  We thought this was a very good market and the prices were great. Definitely worth a look.

We went in summer so I couldn't say for sure if they operate all year round.

I think there is also one in El Pareton (spelling may be wrong) which I have never been to.

Just back from Condado and would highly recommend the Puerto de Mazarron market on a Sunday.  In the past I have gone to the Totana market on a Wednesday and thought it was good but my first visit to the Sunday market makes Totane pale into insignificance.  I know I was with my girlfriends but we spent over 4 hours there - brill!

The market is open every sunday from 10 am to 2 pm it is very big and crowded . but be aware of pickpockets I lost awallet last year. the market must be the biggest in the area. well worth a visit ,just be careful

How much do they charge for a stall ???
