uk tax liability for spanish rental property

Those of you out there that are buying thro' Parador - how long did it/is it taking to complete. We have just been told today that the land registry might be through but they can't tell us for definite and they are also waiting for the certificate of habitacion which they don't have a clue about.

Can any of you give us some hope that they are not just stringing us along. As you can imagine we are champing at the bit and are in desperate need of some Murcia sun.

Sorry, no glimmer of hope from here. We are still waiting to complete. The place has been ready since November 06, our original completion date was Dec 06 and yet we are still waiting. We have booked to come out next week hoping that the paperwork would be in place for us to sign but it looks as if it will just be a holiday now.

Hi Neighbours.

We went through Parador aswell, what a nightmare!!!!  Ours was on time, well sort of. We were told last year that it would be Jan 07 for completion.  We got a letter from Taray saying it was ready in Dec 06.  Contacted parador and they said to do NOTHING until they had done all of the paperwork and all the checks had been completed and that they would notify me when it was ready. I got a letter @ the end of Jan saying it was ready and that all paperwork was in place but could I give them 4 weeks notice so they could organise a rep to be with us for 2 days to do all the legal stuff, which suited us as we had things to do for work, meetings / couses etc.

My advise is do NOTHING until they tell you!!!  This was the 1 thing they actually got right.
