DO YOU NEED TO HIRE A CAR

HI I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW EASY IT IS TO GET A TAXI WHEN YOUR IN THE RESORT AND CAN YOU GET THEM FROM THE MAIN GATES OR DO YOU NEED TO RING 1

I have never seen any taxis at Roda. I am sure you would need to ring for a cab to come from LA.

Hire cars are very cheap in Murcia, but then you have the problem with drinking.

In my opion its best to rent a car then hire a cab when you go out in the evening for a few drinks.

When you say  "very cheap", do you mean compared to other parts of Spain? Is it cheaper to get there and go to a hire company's desk in Murcia rather than book over the internet from home (Dublin in my case)?

From looking at a few car hire sites, carjet seems the best value for booking online but I'd gladly accept any advice to the contrary on either booking on-line or elsewhere or with someone else.

I can reccomend CARJET as we have used them on many occasions with out problems.

The one thing you need to be sure is they book you with a hire company on airport. They do use Auriga which means a mini bus transfer to San Javier, which can be a pain in the whatsit.!!

The reason i said its as cheap as chips is at 75/ 100 £ per week it compares very favorably to taxis to the beach / bar etc etc.

I can recommend www.arguscarhire.com which is like a car hire supermarket and promises to get you the best deal from loads of companies. If you re hire from them you receive a discount on future rentals as long as you leave your email details and they contact you with seasonal promotions. We have used them for over one year now and benefit from a discount each time we reuse them. They appear to be a highly reputable company which now advertises on Sky TV channel, it is based in Ireland and is an award winning company. We have used them for worldwide hire including UK, Spain and USA with no problems ever.

Taxis from Roda are not a problem if you are dining out and can be arranged with the main gate or if you are in Los Alcazares you can ask your restaurant to contact a local company for you - cost is approximately 4-6 euros.
