We returned this morning from 3 rather busy days in CDS. I'm pleased to say that Peter Lund was voted in as El Presidente, plus a committee / Vice Presidents of Paul Smith (full time resident), Sharon Joseph (full time resident), Simon Longhurst and Azim (not sure of surname!) The meeting was productive in many ways, if a little over long and slightly tedious / repetitive in parts. There was a good turn out, couldn't tell you how many, but far more than I was expecting, plus lots of proxies seem to have been sent along as well.
The minutes will be sent out within the next month, I think, with other bits of information, but main decisions were:
1. El Presidente and committee
2. Accounts agreed
3. New budget agreed
4. Debtors (unpaid community fees) are down from approx 85k euros to 27k euros. Interlaken have paid up, and many of the remaining debts relate to completed apartments where Ammex have no details of owners. There are about 100 apartments that have completed but Ammex cannot get hold of owners details. The meeting agreed a course of action to get all these debts collected asap.
(Only 47 apartments in PM2 have not yet completed)
5. For new installations: laundry room enclosures should be glass with white PVC frame; all railings should be white; all shutters should be white; awnings / canopies are going to be white / slightly off white but still needs some investigation to finalise a colour code and supplier. I think this was going to be done quite quickly, as people are waiting for a decision.
6. By the time we got to AOB, I think most of us were losing the will to live and many issues had already been brought up elsewhere. Everyone's issues really were the same, gardens, gardens and more gardens, pools, communal snagging, etc. Nothing that hasn't already been discussed on here, pms, owners meetings, etc.
The newly formed committee were hard at work on Saturday morning with a site review of communal snagging issues. I think everyone has common aims and objectives, but there's a lot to be done. Much of it is fact finding in the first instance. I'm confident that improvements will be noticeable quite quickly.
As for the site in general, it is about 6 weeks since I was last there and PM1 and PM4 gardens are looking much better. PM1 in particular was noticeably good. When we were there 6 weeks ago the gardeners were at work round the PM4 pool and surrounding area every day and that area does look much better now. The worst part of the gardens is still from about block 11 to 20.
For those whose proxies I had, I did suggest that meeting up in UK to discuss the meeting, etc may be an idea. I think that would be best done after the minutes have been sent out. but obviosuly if you have specific questions, ask away.
El Presidente and the 1st lady (aka Peter and Linda!) are in CDS for another week or so, and I'm sure they'll update when they get back.
