Hi everybody, I am at this very moment talking to a Mr Graham Martindale a director of Parador Properties, he is trying to say that his company had no knowledge of the building of this bridge in April2006, which was the time when I signed a contract to buy a property on Torre Alcantara. He goes on to say that his company (Parador), wait for this one, 'NO DUTY OF CARE' to inform anybody of the building of this bridge. I am asking every body on this site to please let me have your comments about this bridge, good or bad, if you was told about it before you bought or after, or was you like me, when one day you just found some photo's on the net from eyeonspain all about it, to your shock. I am asking not for just people who have bought from Parador but also from Taray or who ever. I shall then pass on all your remarks good or bad to Mr Graham Martindale, as a group we are stronger than as one person, so please one and all let me have all remarks both from husband & wife or partner as the case maybe. Thank You all very much. Regards David. Davvid2512

hi david
I was never told about the proposal of any bridge at anytime. However I have seen the bridge and it makes sense to have it there given the introduction of the high speed trains.
I would not like to be living beside it however.

Hi
We have just returned from a 3 week superb holiday in Balsicas and the bridge was officially opened on 26th July. We can honesly say that it didn't pose an eye-sore for ourselves but can understand the upset for the few houses immediately next to it. I'm sure that when the council complete the recreation area it will look a far nicer site.

We "bought" our house in November 2005, direct from Taray. We hired a Spanish lawyer, who conducted all the searches for us. We were not told about the flyover or about the warehouse which houses the local church's artefacts. We were surprised not to be told about these things, but I think we need to keep things in perspective. The flyover is a sensible improvement to the infrastructure of the town. It is not going to be a really busy stretch of road since it is just bringing traffic into the village and it will be more convenient for our own access to our properties. Compared to the situation of our house in Glasgow, our house in Balsicas is positively rural!

Hi Neighbours
My family have just returned from a 2-week holiday at our property, and we were there for the opening on the 26th July. At NO POINT were we told about the flyover by our reps, "Parador" or Taray, yet I do recall someone on the development but cant remember who, saying they HAD been told about it through Parador, so if they knew im sure Mr Martindale knows...
As for the flyover itself, they have tried to make it a bit less of an eyesore by adding lights and a bit of a garden to the underneath of it so on a night it doesn’t look to bad, BUT!!!! ** EDITED - Removed offensive remark **
But as for the flyover
It’s an ACCIDENT waiting to happen. We used the phone box on the corner next to the flyover to phone our son who was at home and the speed at which the traffic goes over this flyover is Ridiculous… its got a 40km sign on the flyover yet the Spanish are going way faster in some cases I would confidently say in excesses of double the speed whilst on their mobile phones. PLUS people are turning off the flyover and trying to turn down the small side road adjacent to the flyover as a shortcut to the development / village it, again it’s an accident waiting to happen. As we witnessed a couple of near misses whilst on the phone, it’s CRAZY!!!! This message was last edited by EOS Team on 8/7/2007.

Hi
Not being told about things seems to be the spanish way. unfortunately i really don't think there is a lot we can do about it now even if someone does listen to our grievences. I do share everyones concerns re "an accident waiting to happen" and hopefully this will not happen. But the flyover is here now and thats something we have to put up with. I just feel sorry for the people who have bought their properties which face it.

Hi folks, we were the first into the semi-detached houses at the front of the development overlooking the railway line. We bought in June 2006 through a sole agent but spent quite a bit of time in the Development Site Office speaking to Ciara (irish girl) and at no time at all were we advised of the bridge. I would think, from Taray´s point of view their answer would be that they didn´t have to tell anyone about it as it wasn´t on their land. I could be wrong. In Scotland our solicitor would make a search of the area to establish any future developments but I don´t think that happèns here. I don´t have a problem with it but it doesn´t impact on my view of anything. I´m afraid I don´t think anything will be able to be done about it either. I agree with Martha - I don´t think it will be a particularly busy road and it cuts our journey time to the village by almost 5 mins (if not more). In France they say Cést la vie - don´t know what it is in Spain but you catch my drift!

Hi Carol,
Great to hear from you again , on the subject of the bridge I think the most important thing to get done is to have the Telephone Kiosk repositioned to a safer area,
that is something we will have to work on, anyway hope everything is ok see you in Sept.

if you had done your research you would have known that all level crossings in spain are to be bridged over as the spanish consider level crossings to dangerous. i personaly knew in jan/feb 2006 that the basicas one was to be bridged and i was told that the bridge by the cement works was done first to allo for the sfe diversion whilst they did the one we are discussing.

Unfortunately I did not do my research by the looks of it BUT what we did do was supposedly go through a reputable agent, i.e. Parador and they also must not have done their research either because they did not tell us of the works to be carried out, and at present are denying any knowledge of the bridge yet your saying its common knowledge
I would be interested to know how you went about finding out this, so I can pass it on to parador. Because Parador are saying there is no way they could have found out unless it was in the press and to their knowledge it wasn`t
