Am I being discriminated against?

Hi all,

Just back from completion today - will give more details when I get time next week. All good though.

We are looking into arranging a Sky dish for Block 3 at the moment. We can put the dish next to the Spanish dish and share the connections if needed. Would anyone be interested?

The other Blocks have there own sat and TV systems, so those blocks would need to arrange themselves. This is only for Block 3.

Congratulations on eventually acquiring your property.

We also may be interested depending on costs. We are also waiting to sign - hopefully not too much longer now.

Does anyone know how long it takes for utilities to be connected after you have signed? Just trying to arrange a date for furniture to be delivered and fitted and the company we are using require utilities to be connected before they can install. Anymore news on the pool - has the problem been fixed now and also are lift now operating and car park spaces accessible?

We're having our furniture delivered a week before we go out . We didn't order the patio furniture as this was quite expensive. Does anyone know of anywhere thats reasonable out there?

Just waitying on some quotes and will let you all know. The dish will be installed next to the exsiting spanish dish on the top of the block.

Ifti & Sarah - we were on builders supply for electric and water a few hours after signing. Was a bit up and down, but not too bad. Should have our own connections on in a few days. Parking for Block 3 was open and useable - not sure about the other blocks. The pool looks horrible, but they were working on it all last week, so hopefully will be sorted soon. Lifts are not operating yet.

Sian and Mark - we got some patio furniture from Ruiz Collado in the commerical centre.

OK everyone. Not 100% final prices, but a good idea on costs...it will be approx 789 Euro for the total install which will allow 4 feeds from it (so four apartments). Ours will be one, so we will have three "spaces" left. So cost per apartment will be 197.25 Euro.

This will install a dish on the roof, alongside the existing Spanish dish. In the apartments, we are already wired up for Spanish Sat and wired for a digitial aerial. The plan is to use the Spanish Sat cabling for the Sky. So, you will still have access to Spanish channels via the digital aerial (if you want them). All you will need on top of the install costs is a digibox. The company are saying 280 Euro each for a new one of those, but you can get them from Ebay for as little as 20 GBP, or take one from home.

You will be able to get all the Sky channels, but not the premium ones (sports, movies etc.). The work is guranteed for 12 months, and its a decent company apparently.

So, thats about it I think. Will mean minimal disruption. The company are doing a survey for me soon to check the quotes given will work.

So, whos still interested? Please PM me, and I will need to sort this our first come first served, as there are only the four slots on this dish. We are planning to get installed when we next visit in early June.

Once I have the final details I can reply to your PMs and we can sort it all out.

Sorry, I may not have been clear. If any other questions come up please let me know. 

The box you need is a Sky satellite reciever box. Like I say, you can get new from the installer (a tad costly though), or anywhere else. Some on Ebay right now for 20 GBP ish. Any Sky compatible sat box will be fine - new or used.

The only other cost is the one off install fee mentioned 197ish.

So you are looking at just over 200 Euro per apartment for everything. No ongoing costs.

Had a couple of PMs and have realised I should have said its Block 3, portal 1 this is for.

Other portals, even on the same block, have there own dish area and set up.

So, this is ony for Block 3, Portal 1 - any floor is fine.

Hi Folks

Not a member of  your community but thought I should point out in case of disappointment that you only get Sky News and all the UK free to air stuff unless you have at least a basic Sky contract.  Also some brands of digibox work better than others here and some don't really work at all - we are of course right on the edge of the footprint for receiving.  There is loads of stuff on the internet about receiving in Spain and which boxes work best.

As for the other blocks. I will chat with the company again and mention other blocks are insterested. We may be able to get a better deal if we are having it in more than one portal. So far, I have portal 2 interested. Any other blocks?

We are in block 3 portal 2 and interested.

OK all. They are doing a site survey next week, and I will have some more info then. I have asked if we can organise more than one portal to have an install, if we will get a discount, and they will let us know next week.

There are still places on the Portal 1 dish - so give us a shout if you want to be added.

As for Portal 2 - someone else will need to organise that one.

Will update next week when I have heard more.

I think the last place has now gone on the dish. But, anyone still interested let me know.
