Janice,
Yes I read it. U can't beat Matalan!!! I bet yours is not as big as mine ooer missus! The only draw back is the smallest size they do is a size 8 and I'm a size 6 as you know, it is a burden I have to bear LOL.

Janice,
I don't know why you're laughing it is a real problem when you have to buy a size 8 and take it in. It's not funny

Hi JHMurcia,
Thought I'd post in this thread as it had got lost along the way. Yes there are quite a few of us in the Murcia region. We are in San Javier on the Mar Menor which we love. Were over there last week with the bad weather but didn't spoil things. Los Alcazares is down the road and is a lovely area too. we spent a lot of time between the two. My friend has a house in Los Narejos (?) , through the arches + past Oasis, down by the sandy red encampment that looks like a posh Butlins.
Anyway, when she bought it there wasn't a scarp of furniture, the only lights were in the bathrooms + kitchen. She got lots of stuff from Muebles Mar Menor in LA. They were really good , delivered same day, that's marvellous when you don't have beds.
There's a good lighting shop neaby too. They supplied + fitted the lights. Fitted the curtain poles we took out too
Will ask her for directions for you if it's of any help

Hi Gina - sounds like we had the same weather - rain !! I've been visiting this part of Spain for over 25 years and this was the wettest holiday yet. Easter can be unpredictable, but this year the rain and cloudswere not good. But it didn't spoil the holiday and it certainly helped the water situation in the area, so that's good news.
With a friend and her grandchildren (over for the easter holiday) we spent a day at the spa baths in Archena, just the other side of Murcia city, easy by motorway. It was a great day. The kids loved it - huge pool with different areas of water to sit/float/massage etc. The water is natural mineral water - very warm and so full of minerals that you it's heavy water and very hard to swim in it, so a river of water takes you outside the building into the open air and sweeps you back in again - it was so good we spent hours there. Reccomend it for a family day out.
Hope all went well with you and the hand-over.
Best wishes.
Jane

Hi Jane,
That spa sounds fantastic. I thought you were over not long after us. we came back on the 8th. Weather was ok but rained a few times. Went for a walk along Pilar beach, it's lovely. Some fab properties being built around. we wanted to see where carrefor was and knew it would probably be closed, just wanted to know where it was. Headed down to the beach then and the sun was out so had a good walk about. It's changed so much since we were there years ago. The take over was great. We were soooooooo happy and pleased with our place that the weather didn't bother us. So much to do, so little time, but all organised now.
Milli,
sorry I missed your post. Thank you for the info on Los Narejos, yes I know where you are. The Roblemar restaurant is just on the arches and looks very nice for a special treat. Have heard about the lighting place in LA. Already had ours fitted before we moved in but will have a look as we will be looking for lamps and things next visit. Directions would be good. Thank you.

Hi Gina .......you were sooo close to my house - just behind the beach of Pilar - in El Mojon. Fabulous beaches and walks, I think we're all so lucky to be able to enjoy the beauty of Spain as well as Wales.
Glad all went well for you.

Hi milli - yes, I love that place too. I can sit and dream for hours there while looking out to sea with a glass of vino! Where are you - perhaps we could all meet up if we're around at the same time at all?

I'm in Cheshire. Have appartment, fancy name for a flat, in Rojales. My friend has house in LA. I know El Mojon as friend used to live in San Pedro del Pinatar. When I visited I used to walk down to El Mojon for a coffee by the sea, didn't feel the same in Lo Pagan, not the same waves to watch.
Will be in Rojales at beginning of May for a few days
