Is there any websites for downloading the NIE form with english translation.
Not sure if this has been asked before in another thread, if it has I cannot find it ,any help would be appreciated.

hi.
its actually quite easy to go to murcia and apply for nie number.
it only takes about 30 mins and you get it within 10 days.
if you are not there it can be collected by lawyer or agents This message was last edited by arky25 on 7/14/2008.

Went to apply for my NIE number yesterday. Easier than I thought. Accidentally went to Spanish Embassy first, should have gone to Spanish Consulate - 20 Drayton Place. Went armed with loads of ID, copies of contract, extra photos etc. None of that required. All she wanted was two, UNSIGNED, copies of the application form per applicant - TYPED - don't forget to put your passport number on the top as I did, our passports and copies of the main page of our passport. All in all done and dusted in approximately twenty minutes. She said it takes about 6 weeks for the numbers to be issued, but I have heard that it can be much quicker. Hope this helps.

I have a contact in Spain, all they need is a copy of your passport and your parents names, they can then have the NIE number in 3 to 5 days, there is a charge but at the last minute it is a very good service and no need to fly out to Spain in person.

If possible I would like to avoid going to Spain to get the NIE number, so if Netball or anyone else could send me a contact or any information as to how I might avoid going I would appreciate it.

Word of warning for those of you going to Murcia to try and get your NIE numbers. We tried last week, having the necessary 40 euros, 2 photocopies of our passports and filled out the relevent forms with Hilary from MRI aftersales. We stood in the queue for about 2 hours and moved 2 metres, gave up and will now apply to the Spanish Consulate here in UK. Hilary did say that it was an unusual length of time for queueing but maybe they were short staffed because of the August holidays.

When we got our NIE numbers we got them from Alicante so things might be different there. We were recommended to pay a few euros for someone to queue and to then join them at opening time. He started queuing to about 5 and the length of the queues when we arrived were astonishing. We were told this was quite normal so the fee paid to this guy was money well spent as we would have been waiting all day.

We are Menta phase 2 about NIE numbers We sold a property in Gran Canaria March08 and we had seperate NIE numbers as both our names were on the property.Our NIE numbers from the Canaries are 0k in mainland spain as is our wills.

Hi all, just wanted to let you know our Solicitor has just received our NIE numbers. We applied at the Spanish Consulate in London on 23 July, was told it would only take about 6 weeks so I was about to write to an address I was given in Spain. Another hurdle jumped over!!

Hi all
Have just spoken to Martinez-Echevarria and it turns out because of the problems with queueing for the NIE's at the police station, they now have an agreement that allows them deal with it at their own offices.
We are visiting 2nd week of Feb and will let you know how we get on with ours.

Would help but havent made 10 posts so cannot give you the people we used took 3 weeks and didnt have to visit spain but cost about £300.
