O.k. update time
Arranged to meet solicitor by e-mails at his office in Los Alcazares 12.00 last wednesday.
Turned up promptly at said time and was greeted with "do you have an appointment"? Showed him his e-mails. After checking through his huge(looked fairly empty) diary was asked to sit down (no our names were not in it). OOps!
Handed solicitor forms that we completed last summer but never managed to beat the Police queues in Murcia.
All necessary parts of form were filled already, parents details, passport details along with photocopies etc.
60 euros each was debited from our account with said solicitors who if I remember took 100% of their charges along with the first payment to Calidona.
Will have to wait around 20 days for NIE certificates to be sent to us.
Did we have to sign anything? No! "It's the new way of doing things"!
Realised we could have saved the air-fare by posting the documents if that was all that we intended but we did enjoy a short break in Murcia as well. Checked out loads of furniture stores/ lighting/air con etc.
Will keep you all posted as to whether this works for NIE.
