Has anybody any up to date info on the situation?

The situation hasn't changed. It is still with the planning people at Murcia Town Hall.

We were out at HR last week. I have took some photos about a week ago, not much has happened. It is such a shame because the rest of the site is looking great.

Do you still have that e-mail from Jill Darby? If so would it be possible to forward it to me? Send me a private message if you still have it and I will give you my e-mail address.

If anyone else has had any similar correspondence from PW regarding the town centre, I would appreciate a copy. PM me if you have anything.  I am also trying to get hold of one of the original HR glossy square brochures from back in 2004.  I think they have changed since, so if anyone has an old dusty one lying around, which I could have, please PM me.

Kenny, we actually received a letter from PW in April/June this year confirming that work was commecing the following week. Do you have a copy of that? Let me know and if you haven't got it I'll try and find it for you.

At last...a very public statement of intent by PW has appeared this weekend that they will be building a Clubhouse and facilities...

Hi all, just back from 9 days in HR and I must say I loved it despite the teething problems an lack of facilities.  Sorry to all that I had intended to meet with, but I underestimated the time and effort it would take to get my place up and running!  Next time.

However...... as spectacular as the HR is, I am still very annoyed about the sports facility and town centre delays.  I have found a large reputable law firm in Murcia and once I have enough evidence I will be approaching them to see if they think I have a case and whether the estimated compensation will be worth the action.  

I do not intend to go as far as court as I have been told that even if I have a strong case this route could get messy and take time.  They do, however, provide a litigation service, which may involve nothing more than presenting my evidence with a formal headed letter from them to give it more clout.

Many thanks to those who have provided me with ammunition thus far, but if anyone else has any marketing materials lying around, please PM me as it will all help the cause.  I would particularly like to get hold of the square, glossy, HR specific brochure from back in 2004 / 2005 as this clearly illustrated the facilities, which is largely why I, and no doubt may others, chose HR over other resorts at the time.  This brochure I feel will be crucial to any action.  Not surprisingly Polaris HQ no longer have those brochures.

All I intend to pay for any legal instruction is the cost of an initial letter and possibly some further lawyers time in potential negotiations.  These costs would be greatly reduced if as many HR residents as possible joined me in a combined action.  If I / we get nowhere, at least we tried, which I personally would be happy to pay a couple of hundred euros for even if it is on my own.  Obviously the other plus of a joint action is more numbers will carry more weight, so please spread the word to as many other residents as possible.

Anyone who is interested in joining me in a potential action, please PM me so I have an idea of the number of residents involved when (if) the time comes.

Hi all,

I have just seen the dates for the next AGM meetings to take place between 16 - 25 March 2009.  This is going to be my focus period on when I intend to have everything in place to initiate an action regarding the town centre and sports facility if necessary.

I know it may not be possible for everyone, but I would encourage as many residents a possible to attend these meetings as I feel what is discussed here may determine whether I / we go ahead with any action or not.  I will also discuss my intentions prior to this period with Margaret Daniels, the resort community president, to ensure everything is completely transparent.

It is not my intention to be sneaky or unreasonable about this issue, but I feel we have a right to demand what we were promised or be compensated.  The fact that the planning application has been delayed by the town hall is frankly not our concern.  This is something a sensible developer would have had in place BEFORE ANY WORK commenced on the resort.  To now try and blame the town hall for the delay is in my view extremely weak.

The Town centre plans have changed many times since 2005, and as recent as April 2008 was the last re-application I believe...mainly due to the limitations which the Planners have put on the Hacienda restoration. So its not a problem with not getting those original 2005 plans passed before building started.The plans currently under scrutiny are nowhere near the original 2004/5 plans. Most of the problems have been with the proposed Hacienda facilities, which originally had the construction of underground carparking, a supermarket and other facilities actually underneath the old building. This was turned down by the Planners (as I suspect PW originally wanted to demolish and re-build) and also the use of some areas of the Hacienda have been restricted. Subsequently a lot of redesign, which I understand includes downsizing of the original Town Centre ala El Valle, Terrezzas, Condado, has resulted.So those facilities have had to be re-designed into a revised Town Centre. That was where the small hotel rumour came from as it was potentially a solution for the Hacienda that the Planners would allow. It is still not clear even at this time what the Hacienda will eventually be used for. The current Clubhouse billboard only mentions Clubhouse with bar, restaurant,supermarket,pub....but doesnt say where they will be located.  PW have been backwards and forwards for many months to get a compromise or a design that the Planners were happy with. They are unfortunately still in this cycle. It is very,very difficult when listed buildings are involved...and also it will inevitably take a significantly longer time to do a conversion and restoration than it does to construct a brand new building. They wont be able to use the normal builders so will need a specialist restoration company to head it.  A long job and costly.

So I guess at the moment the main unanswered question is.....Is the Town Centre just really now the Clubhouse complex and facilities as advertised recently or are there some other planned facilities yet to be announced to complement these.

I know where my money is.

The simple fact remains Cola, we were sold (at a premuim) an all singing all dancing resort, which we don't have.  To be honest I could not be less interested in the planning difficulties PW are currently having.  I personally bought on HRGR largely based on the town centre and sports facility.  If they were not in a position to be certain of what they thought they would be able to offer, then they should not have promoted it as such.

I think we have the square HR brochure you're looking for. We picked it up at the sales cabin in April 2005
It's square (duh), with a green border on the front cover. Most of the content is describing the various different types of building, which is largely accurate.
There are also a few pages which describe the site, and the town centre as a done deal. This is presumably the section you are interested in.

We too are concerned about the lack of promised facilities, and like others who have posted, feel that our rental potential has been completely undermined. Not to mention our own feeling of dissapointment, and inconvenience. OK there is a bus to La Torre, but will this continue throughout the winter ?
That said, we love the place and can't wait until all this is sorted out, and we have our own facilities (as promised).

If things reach the stage where its needed as proof, we'll gladly make it available.
On the subject of action - would it be possible to get the communities on site, to stump up some funds to cover legal costs ?
As it would be in everyones interest to get some progress on the town centre, it seems sensible that everyone should contribute to the expense. I for one appreciate the effort you've put in - no reason why you should have to fund something that would benefit the whole resort. (though there are no doubt, plenty of people who will let you).
