My computer sent before I had finished .so I will continue
A tourist information service based in the 18th century Riquelme Palace
next to the Town centre. Well I never !!!
Once again I do apologise it was an oversight on my part and I will try to be
more aware as to what is going on here at the Resort in future.
Best Wishes Lennie.

Hi folks,
As no one has posted anything about yesterdays 4 page spread in the Daily Express
Then I assume it only appeared in the Spanish edition.
It was under the headings Viva Espan and There's something for everyone.
Now as you know I tried to find out all I could about what was going on here and report back to you on a daily basis.
Well I have to apologise to you all for not seeing what has been brought to my attention by the Daily Express.
They. talk of the Mar Menor and Condado de Alhama then the Hacienda Riquelme.
And I quote, The Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort has proved so popular that Polaris World only has a few remaining show homes left
They come fully furnished by their Home Style interior design service and are now on sale at special prices.
This family-friendly resort has every amenity on site including Restaurants,Supermarket,Bank,Shops,Irish Pub,and even a Tourist
Information service based in the 18th century Riquelme Palace next to the town centre.

Kenny the article was in the English edition too, unfortunately I no longer have it but it must be on their web site.
Must admit I was a bit suprised at what they were saying was already there. They would surely have to build what they have advertised as already being there.
Prospective buyers who view from the advertising feature are going to get a shock when they see the facilities we actually have at the moment!

Just noticed this on the PolarisWorld website where they are advertising the last few apartments at HR.
"The Hacienda (large country mansion) at this resort was previously the home of the Riquelme family. This splendid building is being converted and extended to provide the typical town centre facilities you would expect on any Polaris World resort including bars, restaurants, a spa and gym, shops, a club house and a small "Parador" style hotel".
Is this is the first official notification that there will be a hotel? There were rumours of it, as a hotel (24 rooms minimum) was required if the HR golf course was to be considered for inclusion in the PGA European tour.

I have a copy of the newspaper article from the Spanish edition, my husband spotted it when we were in the tobacconists in Sucina and brought it back to show Lennie.
I can scan it if anyone is interested.

Hi all,
Update on the potential legalities of the town centre. Its not looking good I'm afraid. Two of the big hitter law firms I have approached would not be willing to take on any case against PW. They did not specify an exact reason, but it is not hard to guess why considering the size and reputation of PW...........
Anyway I have one more smaller firm to hear from, but I am expecting a similar response for similar reasons. I know the community presidents are already all over this issue, so I think all we may be able to do realistically is support them in maintaining pressure on PW to get a move on.
Thanks to everyone who supported me and helped me to gather evidence, it was much appreciated and showed that there is a fighting spirit among our residents, which is a good thing. I still firmly believe we have been wronged, but without legal backing I do not see that it is worth any further stress.
Unless anyone else has any other suggestions?
Regards,
Ken.

Hi all,
has there been any update on the Town Centre issue ? I've not seen anything from Polaris and wondered whether anyone had heard anything ? You would have thought that they would have kept us informed, even if there was nothing more to add.
Paul.

I've heard people are beginning to contact the TV program Watchdog to high light the lack of progress with the Town Centre.
If there is no concrete start date by Christmas I will back any concerted protest/action over the Town Centre.

Thanks Mozz and Kenny,
I must admit I hadn't been viewing the HR Community website but, having seen it, it does provide a good amount of info'. Thanks again, I've now added it to my 'Favourites'.
It will be interesting to hear the response from the Town Planning Department in Murcia Town Hall to the 'Formal Request for Information'.
Paul.

The Hacienda Riquelme section of the Polarisworld website ( www.polarisworld.com) seems to have recently had a big revision in terms of referring to the Town Centre and Sports Area facilities. There is also a new 'Masterplan' picture which appears to list the only TC and SA facilities that are now planned. It is considerably down-sized from the original grand model of the HR town centre and its proposed facilities from a few years ago. The short Town Centre list of facilities now looks to be very similar to just the Clubhouse complex at El Valle which was their final downsized version of their original TC.
For those unable to read clearly the finer detail of the facilities lists on the Polaris Masterplan picture on the website….
Town Centre List
SUPERMERCARDO
CLUB DE GOLF
RESTAURANTES
PUB IRLANDES
BAR DE COPAS
SERVICIOS
JEUGOS INFANTILES
(and in addition I believe there is a BANCO)
Sports Area List
2 PISTAS DE TENIS
2 PISTAS DE PADEL
PISTA POLIDEPORTIVA
GIMNASIO
CAFETERIA
ZONE JEUGO INFANTILE

Hi Everyone
Now I am not one to pour a negative view on things as a rule, as a apartment owner I as much as anyone else want PW to get on with the town centre.
But the facts as I see it are they have had more than 3 years to get through the planning department, in that time instead of getting this ironed out, they have chosen to concentrate on taking 40% deposits to build the Apartments as quickly as possible, and then come on with a hard attitude to all their customers to complete ASAP on Apartments situated on a baron wilderness, with at first no golf course or any (even inadequate ones as we have now) facilities.
All the winging and moaning from us will not (as I see it )have a lot of effect on PW to finish this off, as as we all know these are hard times, and one must ask the question why should PW now put any priority at all on this issue now, when they have not done so before?
Does anyone remember the letter from PW president 7 months agao saying "all will be fine, work will start soon, and will take 12 months........."
This conversion is going to cost much more than a new build town centre, and take more time (even more money).
I think they are diverting what limited cash they have due to the downturn in sales, into building their current projects, and have little or no motivation to providing us with what was originally promised and sold to us 4 years or more ago, ie a place in the sun on a converted Hacienda site with a fantastic golf course.
Did everyone get the latest fob off from the PW president sent due to all the noise being made just last month saying "Not quite yet guys but soon....."
While the Golf has come to fruition,is probably due to the fact another company was resposible for it, and the Hacienda as I see it should have been a priority.
Anyway thats just my view, as you can tell from this post I am not their biggest fan, being several thousand Euros out of pocket, on a place that is not even re- sellable, with little of no chance of attracting rentals.

Hello all,
I have found another forum which has been discussing this issue for some time and those who still feel angry about the situation may find it useful to take a look. In essence I think the frustration is growing and more and more people are looking at joining forces and taking some action. Follow the link below and register you interest if you want to be involved.

Hi Shorts 360
I understand how you feel as Polaris seem to have missold their properties on various resorts with these wonderful models. We went out to Hacienda last week and the Polaris guy assured me there was going to be a boutique hotel on there (I must be gullible as I believed him) and I have to say I thought Hacienda was beautiful as it is very much like La Torre (on a smaller scale) but there is more space between each block and the fact that it is in close proximity of the other Polaris resorts (via their courtesy bus, which hopefully runs from Hacienda) I think this is a good thing. I know I am trying to be positive but there is so much doom and gloom around and I have wanted a place in the sun for such a long time, I am going to try and enjoy it. We are purchasing on Hacienda and know there will be things we are not 100% happy with but I am sure once the credit cruch passes, we will all be really happy.
I know that figures were quoted for rentals (we were told we would be able to rent out and get our mortage money back) and none of us (or we will be very lucky to) will be able to continually rent out our places but I do think Hacienda would be a good choice for any keen golfer + family as I am told the golf course is really good and it is near Sucina and what about those beautiful massive swimming pools.

PW need to put more facilities in place for the coming summer as the current stuff provided isn't sufficent or good enough while we wait at least another year for the permanent Town Centre, I wish!!
Also if PW are going to put on any BBQ's or Events in 2009 then they should be telling us now so that residents can sort their holiday plans out over christmas, as this is period when typically people plan their year ahead.

Would it not be worth you while putting your queries to the residents assocation which I am told is very good. I was unaware Polaris put on things such as barbeques, why don't you contact their Head Office and ask them their plans for 2009. Don't get me wrong we have had issues with Polaris and strongly believe they were in breach of contract but unfortunately our solicitor (as nice as she is) was useless and with so much money tied up, we were forced into a decision when our money should have been returned, so I am not a total fan but want to keep as positive as I can as we have so much at stake.
