Wanted urgently: Replacement roof...

hi all 
does anyone know if the proposed desalination plant is being built or has that been shelved along with our shopping centres etc.
i spoke to a polaris rep' over a year ago who said they had secured 26m euro for the project.a friend of mine who also bought on naranjos app'ts said he was told this plant was part of the original planning consent.if it is being built does anyone know where it is?

I thought this had already been started and from what I've been reading on the web the same text kept coming up when I was looking.  I know when we bought back in November 2006 we travelled on the coatal road from Cartagena to Mazarron and they were on putting large underground water pipes in then. Although not sure how far they have got with it.

........Construction of the Polaris World desalination plant began in the first quarter of 2006. Awareness is fundamental to protect the environment and preserve the ecosystem in our region. With the purpose of anticipating client needs, the company decided to build a desalination plant that will produce over 56,000 m3 of water per day, enough to supply over 200,000 people for an entire year. This in-house system will also provide enough water to meet the additional needs of regional tourism........

i agree with you 100%.it is important to us that we have this system in place from an environmetal point of view.water was always going to be an issue in this area and having a desalination plant will guarantee a sustainable and regular supply not just for our pw developments but for the rest of the population in the murcia area.
thanks for your input.i will try to find out more info and see if i can find the place when we go out for our completion at the end of september.

Evening All,

Murcia council made it a condition of planning that the desalination plant had to be built as apparently there is not enough of that liquid gold to support the Murcia region without it. So if it doesn't go ahead we may have swimming pools but without the water and we may have to share a shower.
