Hi

We are due to complete on Jardin 5 tomorrow by POA feeling a little stressed this evening,  it seems our certificate of habitation is in place so hopefully all will go smoothly.  We are hoping to be out in October  to start  furnishing. Now the prospect of getting the keys is so near my sons are asking me if anyone on the forum knows anything about the local football team Real Murcia,  how far away the ground is and the price of tickets etc any information would be great.

Looking forward to meeting all our new neighbours in October.

From Kent

Hope the above website is of some use, although in Spanish.
Not sure whereabouts the stadium is but it was sold out alot of the time last season as they were in the Spanish premier league, now that they have been relegated you might stand more of a chance getting to see them.

The stadium is on the outskirts of Murcia - right by the IKEA and shopping complexes  (opposite side of the motorway) mentioned elsewhere on the forum.  It is about 30 - 40 minutes - all motorway. It is a very nice  looking, new stadium, just a shame that the team were relegated last season. Wouldn't think tickets will be a problem, I know my son is hoping to go at some point.

Have you not read the rules of this forum, No football talk allowed.

No we are not too far away. Id say then than 30 secs walk but far enough away not to hear the noise. Yeah it's looking good, grass is nice and green and the pool looks so inviting!
We wont be out there in october, we are moving to germany then!! But we are aiming to go out and furnish in November

Hope to see you soon

OK Sue and Kelly - we know what you are up to ..............  usurping a perfectly good string on Football to move it on to some rubbish about holiday apartments in Spain - what sort of forum do you think this is ???

Ted,

I agree with you, this thread should get back to football as soon as possible, it's funny how women can always divert a conversation away from football.

I also wouldn't mind trying to get to see some footie while I'm out there and if there are others interested in going along, we could may be arrange a Condado footie trip.  Possibly another good way to meet some of our new neighbours?

Cheers

Simon

Simon,

I think that is a great idea. There are no home games the two weekend I am planning to be over in 2008, but hopefully sometime in 2009 I will be up for something.  Maybe we can have a Condado branch of the Real Murcia supporters club, with a regular meeting in the local watering hole!!

Hi,

I have been reading the posts with interest over the past few weeks.  We completed last week in Jardin 5 and now that the conversations have turned to football interest has picked up from the male side of the family.  We trolled round the new stadium (all be it the outside) last summer in 40 degree heat just to check it out.  Must say in comparison to the old one - very nice.  Checked how they were doing every weekend alas relegation!  But I now that if a Real Murcia supporters club was formed I would have two very interested parties!

Hi Ted,

My hubby Simon will have to ask for my permission first and at present the answer is no.  We will have football pitches at Condado why not have a mini five-a-side footie tournament, Jardin against jardin against Penthouses or Condado against La Torre this will not only keep you all fit but it  will give us women an opportunity to shout at you all.

Alison

I knew my wife would read these posts and find me out

Far too hot to play football, golf's a far more relaxing game to play over there.  Much better to watch the football if you ask me.

Alison, I will be more than happy with inter Jardin matches etc - my 12 year old son can play and I can join the wives shouting from the sidelines - beer in hand!! Not that I want to get in the middle of a marital spat, but I am with Simon, playing golf is a far better idea in the Murcia heat.

Go on Alison, let Simon out to play with the boys!!

Hi Ted,

My hubby doesn't really watch football (he's a Barnsley supporter and an Englishman) we only have a tiff when England are playing Germany and I am shouting for the yellow, black and reds. The problem he'll have playing golf is I can beat him at that so he won't let me play that often.

As you may have noticed I am very competitive and I am up for a game of footie I am not scared to kick a few shins 12 years old or not.

Regards
Alison

Well Alison, you are clearly the Scot!! I can just believe you supporting Germany against England - My Girlfriend does the same, and it must be nice for you to support someone who has a chance of winning for a change!!

I will be happy to stand on the sidelines with Simon, drinking beer and watching you and my Son kicking each other.  I was beginning to think that you were the boss in the house, so good to hear that Simon is able to tell you when you can play golf!!

Ted
