Has anyone had a problem getting aircon installed with Costa Home Furnishings? We have now been told by the site office that some of the electrical work was subbed out to different contractors during the build of phase 2. They have also told us that a vital electric point (ie the one that the aircon needs to run from) was ommitted from quite a few apartments, ours being one of them. Unfortunately we have already signed for our apartment so we don't really know where we stand. Has anyone got any ideas?

I would think that as pre installation of air conditioning wiring and ducting was promised you have a good case to demand Interlaken install it retrospectively. The trick will be in getting them to do it!! I would have thought that as this is not something you could reasonably be expected to be able to pick up when snagging an apartment especially as there is no power available that they will be sympathetic. Please let us all know what response you get.

I am also a phase 2 appartment although not yet snagged so would be interested if you could advise what to look for to check it has been installed in ours.

Ditto - this is a concern and could be costly to fix. We haven't sorted air con installation yet thinking we could address this once we were in but clearly once we've snagged and signed alas too late will be the cry!!

Any advice of what to look for on snagging would be appreciated.

Apparently there is a meeting tomorrow with an MLH director to discuss the problem and hopefully come up with a solution quickly. We were hoping to spend Christmas there so we will have to wait and see. We had a relatively "normal" snag list from our surveyor and we have been told by the site office that it is being taken care of. Once we get out there I will be in a better position to report back on what to look for re the aircon installation etc, but as far as I know this sub-contractor has ommitted the connection to allow the air-con machine to be connected to an electricity point. The problem affects the area block 10-14 according to the site office.
