Transport

Hi - we are in the process of buying an apartment in Duquesa Village and would really love some tips!

Firstly, what are the best transport links from Malaga Airport to Duquesa?  Second, if we buy a car, is it better to leave it in Duquesa Village and to get public transport to and from the airport, or are there places where we can leave the car close to the airport for several months at a time?  ALso, does anyone know a local person who, if necessary, is prepared to turn the engine over every few weeks for us, if we were to leave the car in the underground carpark?

Any advice is hugely appreciated!

welcome to DV... a lovely place to be.

Your transport questions and answers will depend upon how long you will be out in DV , how long you will be in UK, which airport you will fly to...so lots of variables.

For me it's like this ...i fly to Malaga and the taxi fare return is about €180 ... more expensive than a hire car for 2 weeks.which is my max stay.  There are people i know who spend alternate months in Spain who have a vehicle and use long term parking and that costs about €4 per day ...check with Bruno Cars in La Duquesa. Then there is the cost of a car in Spain and i am no expert but i believe cars are expensive.

I have send you a PM with my contact details, after 6 years in Manilva I have had a car for 3 years. I leave this in Spain but on a solar charger, which will not work in a garage.
