Hi Jan and Mike
Its as Phil says and as laid out in the rules of association. There are 3 levels, level 1 is Condado de Alhama as a whole, level 2 is each plot of private property and level 3 is the sub plots. I think I've got those right. Our sub plot is Naranjos 7 & Naranjos 8 plus penthouse blocks 1 - 7.

So, in the end its down to the size of the Jardine?
We have the rules of association, but we had been thinking roughly of the figure suggested at our inspection visit. Tho' the info we had from La Torre on their early fees didnt bode well.
Our hope is only that costs are itemised- as to be frank, they could have come up with any figure in these credit crunch time.

No I don't think it is down to the size of the Jardins. The sub plots are just a community, and then each jardin/block within the sub plots form a smaller community. Lets say Naranjos 7 have their own block president looking after their interest, there is then another president looking after the sub plots. So I think the block president reports to the sub plot president who reports to the overall president. The charges come from a) The site as a whole, that includes all the roads, including the outer ring road, all the lighting, all the refuse, gardening, maintenance, pools, lifts, security, everything. Then you get charged according to the cuota ( Think that's the right word ) of your property, which is why 3 bed are paying more than 2 beds. They cover a bigger area.

Thats more or less what we expected but the comment :-
'The figures are higher than expected because there are less properties, next year will be better because Villa Janas and La Isla will be completed.'
puts a different slant on it (as we understood it) Present owners cant be due to pay for what is due from those owners because they are not yet released. How can they affect what we are due to pay now?. They will begin to pay as soon as they complete.
I suppose we should all be glad if this is the case that they have only cancelled Mirador!

We aren't paying for their properties, but we are paying their share of all the communal costs. So more properties means less communal costs. We will still have the same external roads, lights, security etc.. Sorry if I'm not explaining this clearly.

You are explaining it clearly, except that hadnt been our previous understanding.
Hopefully they'll send out their information sooner rather than later.

Thanks for all this info - it is very helpful for those of us who couldn't attend. I guess part of our problem is that Mirador and the extra penthouses are on hold, and Gold suites and Villas not even started yet. This would have been a considerable number of properties contributing to the overall "central" expenses. I look forward to the email with interest - and very much hope that the €20-40 for last year is correct!

Thanks for all the info its much appreciated,
have they said when they will be mailing the information in the presentation to everyone and the options of dates for the new meeting? I do not remember receiving notice of this meeting by e-mail or any other method like post for instance, I know they have both my e-mail and home addresses.
Our next trip out is very short so do not have much time to chase up on info and our trip after that is longer but is in july aug and may be too late for these meetings,
maybe I will just whitewash my lights next time I am out (I don't want to be fined in my absence ) and when/if the rule changes in the future I can just clean them off.
One final question, does this mean the cowsheds will have to be taken down?
Best regards Ken and Fiona.
PS: I don't own a cowshed.
