Good evening to you all
We do watch the Eye on Spain forum and find it invaluable for information and provides sense of community spirit. This is our first post, so here goes.
We have been proud owners since June 08 and we are based in Jardins 13. Our property is up for rental and we use the wonderful Carol Miller for our property management.  
There have been many threads on the community charge costs and we have just this minute received our costs for 08 and 09 from a company called Resort Property Management (RPM).
This is a s follows,

The amount of the share owners of the community of owners in 2008 is:
Ground Floor: 29 euros/ month.
First Floor: 24.25 euros /month.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The amount of the share owners of the community of owners Jardines de Alhama Golf Resort: Jardín 13 , 2009 is: 
Ground Floor: 118.13 €/month  354.39 euros/ 3 months.
First Floor: 98.88 €/month   296.64euros/ 3 months
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RPM also state “our commitment is to reduce considerably the quotas, around 25 %.”
I was wondering how this compares with fellow PW owners.
RPM want me to send back personal details to allow payment.  Is this legitimate and are they working on our behalf?

Hi and a very warm welcome to this wonderful forum.

Oh dear that seems very expensive. We are coming over tomorrow havent stayed there yet I am sure it will be a good topic in the Surgery(bar) on Sat eve.Plenty of hints and tips on this forum too.

welcome to the forum,

I received the same email on Fri and our amount is similar, we are in Jardin 8.

It seems we are all being billed by the same company but I'm not happy to give them my bank details by email yet until I'm sure of who they are.  I'm sure after everyone meets over Easter they will let us know what they all think and I'll just follow their advice.  Folks on EOS seem to know more than Polaris or my solicitor!!

Hi,

I am also in Jardines 13 and completed in June 2008, however I have never received 1 piece of correspondence from anyone. I have just checked my bank account and no money has been taken, however there was a debit on Monday for 155.04 Euro from a company called IBERDROLA, I am guessing this is my electric?

iberdrola is electric.they are more expensive than british gas and that takes some doing.when you have no competition you can charge what you want.

urbaser is the water company.always make sure you have sufficient funds in your bank accounts.if you get a bill rejected by your bank its can take 10 attempts to get the supply turned back on and thats if you speak good spanish so be warned.

 

rpm are are wonderful management company.they are legitimate and also completely useless.

i dont think they will be our management company next year.

RPM are based in white Portacabin where you would have gone to arrange your snagging.Think Alex is no longer with them as days they are there was scaled down after meeting of Owners so only Victoria will be there.Not sure what days but think it is only two days a week.This is where you pick up your post box key as well.

Sorry I don't.You can email them at general@rpmspain.com but they are not the quickest at replying.If you are going over sooon probably better to speak to Victoria then face to face then at least you'll get a prompt answer or maybe not!!!!!

hi, we got the same email from Rpm asking for bank details but I have no idea who they are and whether or not they are legit. You don't give bank details to what for me was an unsolicited email do you - in fact why are the fees not going direct to Polaris ? Can anyone enlighten me

Effectively we are all the joint owners of the Community....nothing to do with Polaris...on our behalf PW have appointed RPM as our property management agents until such time we vote in our own "leaders" - they will then be able to appoint different agents/re appoint RPM/do it ourselves....

RPM (or PW before them) will have agreed contracts with companies to supply services to the resort (gardening is a good example).  I would expect these to be tendered for but I suspect our contracts have been contracted to PW favourites!!!  The danger is that these contracts are for long term and we are stuck with them when we do finally get control

I am on jardin 13 and have had no bills, no correspondance and no money taken out my account!!

We are on Naranjos 7 and have only been told verbally what our fees are, but as this was over a month ago, the chances are that they have changed.  

Also, if we didn't get any replies to emails or any correspondence from RPM before,  it's not going to get any better now, if it's true that Alex has gone and they are only operating 2 days a week.

I'm on Jardin 4, but you all know that, still haven't heard from either RPM or PW as despite telling both of em my e.mail address at least 20x they don't seem to be able to get the hang of communication, maybe they wouldn't fancy me turning up at a meeting, can't think why

So how do we sort this?

RPM are not doing a professional job.  If the fee's have been set then they should be informing ALL owners, not just a random selection.  But then as the budget has not been ratified and seems to be in flux I don't see how the fees could have been set yet?

I got an email from Victora mid Feb prior to the last meeting then another at the start of March with the proposed budgets but nothing since and my emails have gone unanswered.

Perhaps we should be expressing own concerns to PW, anyone know Jose's email?
