I have bought a Golf Suite and I am currently sitting tight, more than willing to bide my time. The contract states that completion for our property will be 22 months from commencement. This is clear. However, I note the comments with regard to the potential to claim funds deposited back on the basis that the contract is unreasonable. I will not be going down this route in the very near future. Although I have not contributed much to the discussions on other phases of the resort, I read the forum everyday to catch up on developments.
This has been said many times on the forum - Condado is a long term investment (made even longer term by the current state of the world economy). I take the view that as long as my property is built I am not fussed when it appears. I am staying close to PW (although the discussions I have had with them are less than fruitful). My only issue is the fact that I haven't received the bank guarantee for my second payment (however, if you read the contract it clearly states that each stage payment is guaranteed by banks so I assume there is an element of protection there).
If you look through the issues with regard to community fees, the majority of posts on this forum say how great the resort is currently and will be in the future.
The work that pressure groups have done with regard to the community fees is fantastic.
The one thing that does concern me is that, and I for one appreciate what a frustrating process this property buying busines is, consideration should be given to the potential effect "complaints" and "action" could have on the resort as a whole. I say this as properties are still for sale on the resort and any prospective buyers could be put off by the posts on this forum and/or bad press about PW which may begin to surface as people rule with their heart over head.
Think long term, remember how good the resort will be and consider the big picture impact certain actions could have on the future of the resort.
That's not to say no one should complain e.g. the community fees should be challenged, etc.
It's a global recession - let's weather the storm and look forward to future days on Condado.
