This is what you have probably heard about
"(RTTNews) - In an effort to boost Spain's key tourism sector during the economic crisis, the Spanish government announced concessions for airlines that attract more passengers to the country.
Those airlines bringing in more tourists in the first half of 2009 than what they did in the second half of 2008 will be exempted from airport tax."
My last comment may have done Ryan Air a disservice as apparently they were one company pushing for something to be done. It is certanly an incentive for them and others to get "bums on seats" - so maybe their will be some good deals, especially if they are close to meeting the 2008 figures.
