We were offered a switch to a smaller apartment (same no, of bedrooms but smaller build size) with no price concession on the basis that Calidona thought  'it was a better location and would be available sooner'.  We did not agree and are now taking our own action.

Steveandjane.

With regard to your reassuring remarks regarding people who have agreed to switch, these people are hardly likely to be unhappy since by definition they have to be happy to make their agreement in the first place. It is the people like us who have been offered switches and who feel the deal offers nothing that are in the opposite camp from whom it might be interesting to hear.

To be fair Calidona may have softened their position since they spoke to my wife and I, in which case you may well have made a good decision. Our experience was, however, not so positive.

Hi jdy

When did you enquire about the switch?

We have taken a smaller apartment with a completely different layout from the original. I must say that Calidona also believed that the new location was more select than the previous and as such the apartment we have gone to had a premium price originally. That all being said we negotiated a super deal with Jesus and as such are very happy with the new apartment and location.

Have you tried again since?

There are different properties coming back to availability daily apparently.

Whatever you decide I wish you all the very best.

Hi

We are progressing a legal action now so I do not expect there will be a deal of this kind between Calidona and us at any stage in the future. You seem to have got a result you are happy with however so that's good. I hope there are many more like you in the future.

Hi Steve - it's good to hear that you've made a super deal with Jesus and not turned to the dark side.

Thank you Noely Poley for that libelous remark.

I actually have had my own 'Double Glazing' firm for the last 20 years after leaving the management of Clarks Shoe company before that. Stop clutching at straws if you are going to try to make a genuine legal attack on Calidona and just stick to the facts. I have only stated one fact in this thread and that is that Calidona ARE approachable to the genuine consumer. I know this to be true because I and a couple of new neighbours have done it.

I'm sure you will let everybody know how your court case goes to try and balance the issue, or maybe you won't.

Hi SteveandJane,

You have more important things to do than waste your time replying to such pathetic comments aimed towards you. You have offered advice from what you have done regarding transfer. Leave it now, survival of the fittest!!

Steve has  nothing to do with Calidona except  be a happy purchaser.

What is important is for  you  to organise your furniture, furnishings, flights throughout the year, dinner dates with other completers, golf............too much to list here.

Can't wait to get our keys.

Hi Superhero or whatever your alter ego is (Albolwel perhaps or somebody else that has already been banned and is making his first post under another name?)

Nobody said I worked in a shop, perhaps you didn't know that Clarks' manufacturing headquarters was in Somerset and for PVCu firm read home improvements, which include extensions, conservatories roofing etc.etc.( I only put double glazing to simplify things).

It's amazing what you can cram into 51 years if you work hard and do long hours,

As for throwing good money after bad all I can say is that I've always tried to keep up my end of a bargain. An off plan developement has to be a partnership between developer and purchaser. Both have to fulfill their part (yes, including Calidona) or it will fall down. Corvera to me is still a work in progress that is being held up in part by the lack of funds coming in from people that cannot or will not complete. I feel that I have a moral obligation to fulfil my part of the bargain, not only to the developer but also to those purchasers that have completed.

You've probably gone most wrong in life by having a go at people and trying to put them down but don't worry about it as I'm sure I wont!

Calidona are in the wrong here, not non-completers so please stop all this moral bs.

They deceived us by slick wording of the contract giving them carte blanche to treat us like crap.  If they had fulfilled their side of the deal by delivering apartments almost 3 years ago there wouldn't be a problem, instead here we are being asked to complete on a half assed development that will never be what we thought we were buying into.

I'm not wearing blinkers, having dealt with Calidona in the past I clearly see them for what they are, scumbags who promise the earth but deliver very little.

Slick wording can be still be read and understood, Calidona did not force anyone to sign.

I cannot believe any of the people who have paid their deposits would have accepted  the same terms in a uk contract being in the sun perhaps changed that.So the blame is not totally onesided.

Who held the pen to sign the contract you or Calidona?

Don't worry Shudi, we know we made a bad call but that doesn't take away the fact that Calidona have been dishonest throughout this whole affair, after all, all we done was trust them.  Taking aside the contract terms they are still being dishonest by not providing what was paid for (imho they never will) so the blame whilst not totally is largely on their side.

Phew!!!!!

I was only joking!!!

Pick up them there toys and put them back in your pram.

My opinion is they should have at least built pro rata ie; 50% residential 50% facilities instead of 98% residential 2% facilities.

If they are not conmen just after our money, well they are at the very least totally incompetent at running a business, why start corvera when they have not even finished roda, over expansion is a recipe for disaster for any business.

I think that anyone who is offered an alternative apartment will be told that it is in a better position and there will be a premium to be paid, it's your standard sales spin BS. You just end up getting less for your money but feel happy about it. It's just like being told by your original sales agent that they or a member of their family have invested in the development, it gives you greater  confidence in the development, just your standard sales BS. Just because they are shovelling it doesn't mean you have to take it.

Your properties are probably worth something like 50% of purchase price, a large part of the is due to the lack of facilities that you are entitled to. Will people rent on properties miles from anywhere with no facilities, I doubt it. I strongly suspect that communal fees will rocket, the facilities will never be built and the prices will not recover in the foreseeable future and you will have  one hell of a job to resell them, a financial millstone thanks to Corvera. But if you are happy with all that, good luck.

Kev2.

Please do not assume that people who have transferred are that naive.

If everyone of the non completers wants/needs these facilities surely a lot of people would have been   extremely disappointed having rented a property and having to queue up  for the use of these facilities. There certainly would not be enough for all these people who are not completeing.

Hi all

Although we were told that a property was in a better position by Corvera we didn't accept this as a fact without first seeing the property and it's surroundings, weighing that up against the proposed position of our original choice. Nobody gave us only one choice and nobody forced us to exchange and deal. We personally think that the apartment we have gone for IS in a block that is worth a premium. Our choice!

People keep going on about Corvera being in the middle of nowhere. It is an off-plan golf development that is within an hour of at least 20 other golf courses, 10-15 mins of a major city, Murcia . It is set in the foothills of a national park, Carrascoy. It is right in the middle of the Murcian Highway triangle that allows travel to anywhere in Murcia or from Almeria to Alicante within an hour. If and when the airport is finished it will be within 5 mins. of a future major (Spanish) International airport. It may well be (in the future) only a short distance from the high speed rail link to Madrid. It may well be in the future within a short drive of a Major Europen theme park. It is within 35 mins drive of the mediterranean or the Mar Menor if you want to taste salt water (not us).

CORVERA IS NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE!

Vip Supporter

Superhero you have a very familiar way of phrasing things and starnge reference to MF

Do you know something this is quite amusing as normal as Corvera so far have not promoted the centre, they have not openned it yet in fact, according to people they were not going to even build it

There are 7 horses to start with, more on the way, without it even being openned yet and as George explained they are first getiing them used to the area, riding out finding the suitable trails , so I think that it may be unfair to make any comments till perhaps it is fully functioning, but again I suppose for some this another good negative topic to post on
