Its not looking good

The la torre forum on eye on spain is not use very much. it needs more people on it with over 800 post.. i use another forum for la torre matters the ( the owners forum.) im going out for a few hours now, getting on with my life i hope you dont mind.

I must say that I don;t like the tone of the posts on this thread. I personally enjoy my visits to Condado but was very disappointed when over recently to hear the speculation regarding a halt to all further development work.

I purchased on the strength of the plans produced by Polaris and of the facilities that where proposed.

It would appear from the number of vacant properties that demand is almost non existent and from those up for sale that a number of owners want to escape from their current predicament.

I like everyone else have no idea what the future holds for this resort, I wholeheartedly wish that at some future point improvements will be sufficient to make this a fantastic place to own.

I sat in the Clover one night with only three others in the bar and was truthfully saddened.

I sat in the restaurant with only one other table occupied.

I paid 50 Euro plus 3 Euro for insurance to play a round of golf on an almost empty course.

I believe that with a few new management practices, for example -  to reduce golf prices, include deals for a buggy and / or incorporate a meal/ subsidised meal in the restaurant, would all assist in encouraging golfing visitors. We need to make use of the pitches and courts to encourage the formation of teams and the promotion of competitions to attract visitors. 

We are all different, some days my glass is half full others half empty and as I have already stated I enjoy my visits to Condado, and hope to enjoy many many more but the day I don't  is the day I leave.

Raff i have to say fair play to you on that, however i think things will start to come together now Olagolf have taken the forefront. I hope to see better deals on the golf which if they had a bit of stuff about them will pull off. Im looking forward to seeing what Olagolf have in store and what will happen.

I myself am a very optimistic man and believe Condado will be a place where people will come often.

 I would just like to say that this forum is there for people to share information and over the years has been really helpful  and valuable to a lot of people, including us.

I think when we start seeing personal attacks on people like WillyWonker we are in danger of inhibiting people from posting facts on here whether they are positive or negative. I think both pessimists and optimists need to hear both sides of any story,  otherwise we are burying our heads in the sand. Just for the record I am an optimist but it would be nice if we refrained from personal attacks on this forum.

None of us could have foreseen this global recession, but lets hope the future is brighter which I am sure it will be, but it may take some time.

Wise words Ken&Maria, we need to discourage the bullying and lynchingwhich a handfull of people(you know who you are!), on this site, insist on doing to anyone not praising the resort. If anyone has a comment positive or negative they should be allowed to freely express their opinion without fear.

I agree with both parties and I am not sitting on the fence because I am so laid back it is untrue. What's done is done you just have to make the most of it. But if your not happy with things then you have to get up off your butts and do something about it if it is possible. the fact of the matter is if Polaris where still running the shops/gyms golf etc they would not let outside companys in until the Oasis was open so this would mean prices are a Monoploy and they can charge what they want. I found prices in the surgery/clover to be very expensive at €10.00 euro for a short and a pint then I am a tight yorkshireman!! Then on the other hand you only meet people from your garden if you stay around the apartment and drink so it is a catch 22 so just dig deep and pay( for a couple).

I don't like personal attacks everyone has the right to be pessimistic or optimistic and thats there perogative it does not mean you have to agree. If you can understand and take on board where other people are coming from then things might get done if we all pulled together. There are points from both parties which need to be taken on board but bickering will not help. If you were sat in the clover all drinking and talking amicably then you would not behave like spoilt kids with each other you would be sat laughing and agreeing with each other.

Just back from a rather extended stay at Condado with 3 flights cancelled etc etc, I could have opted to take one of the coaches home......  I could have but just couldn't bring myself to do it !!!!! my only other option was to stay there and wait it out, it was a really tough decision..... NOT !!!

Whilst there the diggers were out and working for days at the Jardin end of the resort clearing the weeds etc from the outside edges of the golf course, not sure what they are doing next but at least they are doing something......  So it is starting to look good and they are working at it....

Ant you are in danger of having to go to the naughty step if you don't stop being positive and upsetting the neggies!!! (my pet name for the  negative 'glass half empty' people!!!! )........ How very dare you remain positive....   lol
