Hi,
We do not live in Duquesa [reside in UK] can someone please advise how we can arrange for our IBI bill to be paid by direct debit from our spanish bank account . Unfortunately we will probably not be out in Spain until after the deadline, thus need to set it up via email etc

We are in Block 17, which was part of Phase 3 and have had this years bill debited from our bank, but have not yet seen an actual bill/demand.
I have put an email address below, which was posted by Michael last year. If you email they will advise you if you how much you owe and how to pay it.

When was the money debited ?
We set up a direct debit authority last year, but to date no money has been taken from the account.

We never recieve a bill - in fact we only found out about it a few years ago by accident. We always go up to the office in Mailva to collect ours (we went last week and got it) and it's not due until 10th September so why are they deducting it now? A bit premature......

Have faxed the Town Hall and emailed using the email address from last year asking for copy of the IBI bill so that I can make payment, but to date no response.
Seems like they would rather collect interest for late payment.
Has anyone else managed to obtain a copy via email or fax ?

You have to go in to get a real copy on the special form. They are not geared up for fax or email and you need the actual document with its tear off pieces to pay at the bank.
I set up a direct debit in the office next to the police station in Manilva village. If you are over there in the next few weeks you may be able to get the document without interest.

A direct debit was set up last year so I have faxed and emailed the Council to enquire why they have not approached the bank.
Last year they did respond to both faxes and emails

We are at DV now and have not had a bill or it seems any post in the three and a half months since we were last out. Odd since we normally have loads of utility statements etc and were expecting something too. I guess we will have to go up to Manilva to sort it out again.

The council have today emailed a copy of the bill and have under separate email sent details of the account to which monies should be remitted.The bill is almost exactly the same as last year.
High compared to other developments along the coast at € 716 for a 2 bed apartment

Not a typo exactly the same as last years bill.
Would be interested If others are receiving smaller bills for same size apartment so I can take the matter up with the council

Michael, last year's bill was around €430, as was the previous year, 2008. We have a two bed apartment also and I know other owners who have paid approximately the same amount as we have. I can't understand why your bill is so high!! We haven't yet received or paid this year's bill (no doubt will have to go up to the office in Manilva!), but friends have last week and I'm sure they would have mentioned if they were paying nearly double what they paid last year (I know that they paid the same as us last year, around €430)!
I would definitely check this out!
