Supermarkets

Can anyone remind us if the supermarkets are open on a Sunday?  We are out next week and have totally forgotten!

No, they're generally not open.  The only one that opens on Sunday is OpenCor, I think (there is one in Estepona, near the port).  They are 24/7, I believe.

There is an English supermarket at the Clive Christian roundabout just after Casares.  It's a bit hidden but go left on the roundabout and then right pretty much straight away and there's a row of shops.

Lidl on the sabi market / garden cenre roundabout opens on Sundays too.  Open Cor are open 365 days from about 4am through to midnight but sell a variety of things and not largely food.

According to Lidl's website, they only open on sundays from 1st July thru to mid-September - unless that's changed.  There's also a new shop in the port (first level I think) called Costcutters.  Not sure if it's open on Sundays though - so that's not much help!!

It was probably summer the last time we went on a Sunday I think as they didn't have a great range.  It was where we got those weird beers and the small prawns that time we had a  barbie Jan!

I remember that - we got those awful pork skewers too!  They were dreadful!

There is a small Spanish supermarket open on a Sunday  on the road directly behind the Paseo (promenade) in Sabinillas from the roundabout go towards beach turn left at the bottom and about 150 meters along in the Estepona direction

The Halal butcher near to the tyre place and Ferreteria Morales (close to the Sabinillas roundabout) is open on a Sunday.

Going up the hill to Manilva Pascal y hijos on the first sharp bend is open on a Sunday.

Some of the small local shops in Manilva village are open on a Sunday morning including one that sells meat.

And don't forget the garages stock a range of basics. 

the new supermarket costcutters is open  8.30am till 11pm 7 days a week

the last time i was in duquesa they had a wide range of typical english foods as well as a deli counter, fresh baguettes with fillings to takeaway on day trip, toiletries and alcohol.

i found them reasonably priced and will be going there for most of my shopping needs this year
