Mailing DV from the UK

Hi

Sandra & I are out in DV for a week from Friday 30th April. We have a parcel that is too awkward to check-in - so we thought about posting it to ourselves in DV!

Can anyone please advise on the following:

1. What is the postal address for DV?

2. Any idea how long parcel post takes to be delivered in Spain when posted in the UK?

3. What is the procedure for collecting parcel post (I assume it is collected from the post office in Sabi)?

We were over in DV two weeks ago - cold,wet and no planes (had to drive back to the UK)! So please let the current good weather last.

I can comment on packages I have sent from here to the UK and they usually take about 4-5 days,  At this end, you will receive a notice from the Post Office (yes, the one in Sabinillas) to pick up the parcel there.  You just go along, with the notice and ID, and they will release the package to you.

 Make sure you pick stuff up as soon as possible after receiving the post office form as some documents etc. are only held for 15 days.

Post is not very reliable. 

e.g.  Lesley posted me a birthday card a couple of weeks before we went out.

The card never arrived although we check out post daily.

Only had three items in two years.  Every visit we check post and find nothing. 

In the UK I get my electricity bills on line.  It will be good when the Spanish utilities vendors move to on-line billing !!
