It is! And it looks as though they are going up the hill - or at least to the right at the junction! It's so much better!
Edited to say: it now looks as though they are finishing at the junction! Oh well! This message was last edited by Pitby on 26/05/2010.

Hmm, they're not going to get a big response then since most people won't know and others (including us) have no idea when we will be out to collect them! Is there a deadline for paying? Sorry to go off topic!

I thought it had been held some ttime early last year that the El Hacho notices were not legally valid and the mayoress had agreed to suspend them.

It was agreed that the entity should be dissolved but at a more recent meeting it emerged that there would be a final one off charge in order that debts could be paid and so that it could be dissolved properly. No one has been sent any invoices though and now it appears we are supposed to psychically know that we have to collect and pay invoices from the port! I don't think a high percentage will be paid any time soon!

When you buy a house your escritura states you community commitment in terms of quota for any community fees. I don't see how they can add additional fees under Horizontal Law.
I can understand that the IBI may be increased to cover extra charges but I think they would have to apply it to all properties in the area not just El Hacho.
Surely any debt occurred before DV was established and in many cases before we purchased and therefore we should be excluded.

I totally agree and was surprised to read on Manilva Life that many seem to feel we need to pay up to dissolve the entity because, as you say, the debts involved were from prior to our ownership. I am not planning to rush over to collect a bill anyway. After all, no one has actually even informed me about it and it is by chance I happened upon the discussion on a chat forum!

I think that's the whole issue with the El Hacho EUC - it was argued that it was illegally incorporated (twice I believe!). I'm with the "how can we pay if we don't know what it's for and how it's being applied" brigade, personally. Hence why I haven't scrambled down to the port to pick up the invoice. As far as I've read on ML, it's really not clear what is happening and no written communication has been sent (so far as I'm aware) to owners - at their properties - to advise them of the situation.
As Caroline says, I don't think there will be a queue to pay at the bank!! And I'm not sure what authority the Manilva ayuntamiento will have to enforce payment, as it hasn't been made clear anywhere. Blurry to say the least!
