Clearly a disappointing and concerning email but equally disappointing comments from people without the full facts. Now is the time for support not further remonstrations.

I think that is the point, that we've not had the full facts. In fact we've only been fed information from one side. The other presidents have not even been party to this information. The level 1 president informed ML that they were unable to communicate the information discussed, so the reports usuall sent to all presidents stopped...this is ML's only route of communication. They've accused and supported the accusations with evidence in some cases. Although I agree the tax dodging accusation should not have been published, along with other unnecessary character/business tarnishing comments......but then he should have expected them to fight back.....

Personally I would have rather voted for our ex president on La Isla namely Paco Mangano who worked hard to get La Isla In a better place than Phil Tann. It is difficult to understand the full facts but the evidence is not looking good. I am a strong believer that we need a figure head that understands the Spanish way of doing business and who speaks the language to help drive out the best results for CDA.

Clearly there are lessons learned all round but we surely can not have people in power that have a conflict of interests. We need honesty and integrity to help the future of CDA as we have all experienced so much dishonesty already from the developer that sold us all a dream that Millenium are trying to make better for us.

I agree with previous posts that roles and responsibilities need reviewing to agree collectively and coherently who should sit at the top table interfacing with our administrator in our interests with no back door handshakes. I really hope people get behind Millenium and look to feed in suggestions to get the resort further improved and look to encourage a set of presidents that improve the communication lines making use of a central website with a clear communication strategy to keep the many overseas owners informed.

Just out of interest how did these people ever get voted in in the 1st place? Surely the vote needs to be more on volumes across the resort as opposed to mates voting mates. Not suggesting that some are not doing a good job but this needs to be transparent. Who are all the level 1 and 3 presidents? Is this all available online?

I'm disgusted with what I've read. I always found mileniun was great. They are always friendly and very helpful and there when we need them. The weekly email report was brilliant as we could see what was done in the resort. Since we were here last time the resort came on very nicely and very joyable. The festivals and markets are great. Mileniun has always an open ear and responsed always to all our enquiries, Which I can't say from mr P T. He never replied on our emails or texts.
Anyway who voted someone as a level1 presidend who lives in a small garden which is less than half occupied.
Who does he think he is that hi thinks he can treat people like this?
That's not the way to represent our community. He is not the owner of condado, we all are!!!

It's unfortunate that the situation appears to have deteriorated to this level however, we fully support Mileniun Levante and appreciate the improvements that they have made to the resort since taking over as administrators.
 
We have no issues with the way they manage services and understand the complexity of what they manage. This view is based on what we hear and observe when we are on site as we are not full time residents.
 
Presidents were voted in to represent the owners on Condado.  We would not support the presidents taking over the administration of the resort.  What credentials do they have to do this?
 
We do however fully understand that community presidents are essential in the success of the resort working with the administrators.  The presidents should have the interest of the owners and community foremost in their decision making and not be concentrating on their own empire building.  That said, as always it is usually the minority who spoil it for the majority. Without volunteers whether presidents, events organisers, running the local football team etc where would we be. We all rely on these people so hats of to them for looking after our interests.

In my experience egotists are not suited to voluntary positions!

Do we need to bring in a mediator in an attempt to get this back on a professional level?

Hello SMV,

Perhaps you have missed the point of my email or have not read it properly. I believe it is rather intelligent.

Getting paid, as Phil Tann does, for doing some work on the side and not paying taxes is dishonest and bad for the economy.

If the economy is suffering , the country, in this case Spain, struggles. If the country struggles and can't keep their loan repayments to date bailouts are needed it.

I'm not linking Phil Tann to the bailed out. I'm just saying that if people do not play by the rules and in this case he hasn't (there are plenty of evidence) there will be consequences. In this case not a good ones. His actions and behaviour are having an effect on Condado and the people who are working really hard, ML, to make sure that the best decisions are taken and the necessary work is carried out to make our resort is well kept and one of the best in the region or why not to say, in the whole Spain.

I have worked really hard to buy and keep my property. I have already been let down and cheated by Polaris. I do not wish to be let down or cheated again by somebody who really does not care or has too much ego.

Anyway, that's the way I feel. I don't intend for you or anyone else to see things the way I do.

I only hope that everyone who receives the letter sends an email to ML with their thoughts and suggestions. Something needs to be done PRONTO.

Sounds like the trust has gone so hard to see a way forward with the current structure. I hope this goes out to vote as I will be voting to keep Millenium on board and sounds like the roles and responsibilities of the presidents needs to be understood and agreed to ensure they are working on our interests so they know their boundaries. Not happy with them making decisions behind close doors and then controlling the flow of information so us overseas owners never get to know the real truth. If true this is a disgusting practice and one that has made me very angry that 1 person feels he has so much influence.

Let's use some of the 280k to create an effective community site with an effective comms strategy etc so we have a joined up community. Personally I like the look and feel of the La Manga site and newsletters and their approach stands out and it would take a steer from 5 star resorts so we know what we should be aiming for. Not taking credit away from Millenium as there have Ben some great improvements.

I have no idea if true but I was recently advised that 1 president was not willing to sign-off on filling the lake on La Isla and that this never progressed? Surely big decisions like this need to be made as a community as how can 1 person carry so much clout. Anyone else heard the same?

I hope that everyone commenting responds to Mileniun offering their vote of confidence. The resort has been transformed from its original state and I have never thought of Mileniun as anything other than professional. I did have my doubts Baout changing administrtor at the time but am happy woth the outcome. The weekly updates are fantastic and very gratefully received when you cannot be there personally to supervise your property or see the resort regularly. Why would anyone seek to stop these updates coming to us? I am most confused.......

Guess we will never get the full truth but conflict of interests clealy play a large part. My views already fed through to ML and like you I hope people get behind them and I appreciate the awareness note they circulated today otherwise we would all be still in the dark. We still are to some extent but let's all work with them to help our resort.

I too have been very impressed with ML. The emails as already stated are great.
We have always found the staff very polite &  helpful.
If the situation comes to a vote then sorry Phil but ML will be getting mine

Some concerning points raised in the mail out and ones that needs addressing however there are two sides to every story. I do not know PT but know that a lot of the full time residents have a great deal of respect for his efforts to work on the overall interests of Condado and this has taken up a great deal of his personal time. I think ML are ok but would like to know what steps they have taken to sort this relationship prior to sending out this note on mass. If no attempts have been made or their concerns not raised with the level 2 presidents first then this note is quite unprofessional. Yes everyone needs to be kept informed but whipping up a bit of a hate campaign is not the way to go about it. As they mention a few isolated incidents put together make a big deal but I urge everyone to look a bit closer. I wonder, is PT actually tying ML down so we get the best return from them, do they not like this? Everyone posting so far says they are doing a good job? They are answerable to the presidents who need some credit for ML doing a good job including PT. I could list 5 or 6 things with evidence that ML have not done appropriately and could of been better but put into perspective that is to be expected in a project of this scale.
La Isla president worked tirelessly for the community but people still criticised, unfortunately that is life, everyone will always have different opinions - result on la Isla was the president stepped down, communications stopped, progress stopped, the decisions could then not be criticised but all residents lost out and were left in limbo.
I suggest for those responding to ML it is to say to conduct an urgent meeting with PT, apologise for the unprofessional way they have gone about this and bottom out some clear roles, responsibilities expectations, I.e weekly meeting to sign cheques, approve communications etc
If this is the result of their mail out hopefully we can then continue to move forward.

 Mileniun have my vote. Since they were appointed to manage the resort they have done a terrific job. The weekly report is great for those of us who are not residents. The office staff are always helpful and polite. I've never heard of this guy Phil Tann and I don't want him making decisions on my behalf. Sounds to me like he's making himself too busy.  I've not heard about any problems with Mileniun and if there were I would expect to learn about it from the President of Jardines 2 where I have my apartment.

jpraven; I'm pretty much with you on your comments.
Mileniun also have my vote. Since they were appointed to manage the resort they have done a terrific job. Improvements all round. The weekly report is great for those of us who are not residents. The office staff are always helpful and polite. I have met Phil but wouldn't say I know him, but I also wouldn't want Phil making isolated decisions on my behalf. I have never had any communication with any president at any level, so how are they be communication and getting agreement from the owners? I'm sure I’m not the only one.

I have emailed Milenium giving my full support for their efforts and continued improvements.

The Spanish are extremely proud people and do not appreciate any rude or bullish behaviour. Having worked in business with the Spanish on a daily basis for 18 months in the UK, I found the best way to get them on your side is to be polite and courteous. Yes you can disagree with them, however, good communication is critical and I believe that is what is lacking here. A good communicator who understands the Spanish culture is needed. As for setting up a community run by presidents............ Have a word with yourselves.......... you must be kidding...... would never get my vote. 

Are some UK residents looking for full time employment, if so running a community in Spain is the last place to look, this role must be left to the Spanish as any other nationality wouldn't have a hope.

I agree too - we have had no problems with them and the resort has definitely improved since they took over.

Oh Dear,

And I thought it was all going so smoothly.  Sounds to me like someone is getting a bit high and mighty about his position, he should he be working closely with millenium for the benefit of the community and us as owners moving this resort forward not hindering it, being free with information that concerns us and the resort not vetting it for his own benefit.  Obvoiusly were only getting one side of the story but I have been more than happy with mellenium since they took over.

Personally the weekly e-mails I have been recieving from millenium have been fantastic detailing the works that have been carried out, very informative and makes you feel closer to whats going when being home also feels like your getting a bit of value for your community fees seing whats been done.

It would be a disaster in my opinion if the community was to manage the resort themselves and employ people directly and this certainly would not get my vote, keep millenium and support them in what they are doing people, if some people, or someone is hindering this then get rid and vote someone else in.

Dear All

From the letter from ML it would appear that this has become very personal between the Level 1 president and ML and why is the Level 1 Presidents wife getting involved (this shows things have become personal and therefore clouded), I am sure that not everything is running 100% all of the time, yet I echo some of the comments below, since ML have taken over and ive been an owner since 2008 the resort has improved.

I remember a similar situation some years ago between the Presidents and the old administrators when things become to personal.

I would hope that the Level 1 President and ML can sort their differences out as there is nothing wrong with having different views and opions, yet if they can not sort things out ML get my vote and the Level 1 President should stand down.

I do not want the Level 1 President running my business with the aid of his helpers.

This is the second time they have attacked Phil Tann, the first time was to a select number of Spanish President the evening prior to the Presidents Meeting.
This information was given to Phil by a Spanish President and He in turn raised it at the meeting so that we could all hear the accusations and he could respond.

At the meeting it was confirmed by the people who had been called to that meeting, but Mileniun stated that it was all lies.
This took up the first couple of hours and as we had other matters to discuss Phil was asked to leavethe matter and move on. He complied.

I have tried to give you some facts with regard to the information that Mileniun have now sent to all owners if you are interested then pm me and I will forward it to you as it the origional text is too long for this formun.

All I can add is that I trust Phil Tann to do what is for the good of the community and I know that the other Presidents that I have spoken do also.
It has been my experience that Mileniun only tell us what they want us to know and they have lied to me personally on various issues.

- what exactly are ML asking us to do with the letter?? ..are we expected to email them our thoughts of support for one or the other...not good, if I was PT I would discount any feedback as biased as its not independently collated !! I think ML will get all the support they require and feel for owners sentiments from this thread!

- I believe that in general we ask more of ML than they would be contracted for...for example, asking them about taxi's to airport...is that what resort property management is..to this end, they go above and beyond, because they don't turn these requests away and hence I expect the positive sentiment on this forum towards them...

- I don't know PT but neither do I expect him to walk around with a badge on...maybe we need a frame with pictures within ML office with pictures of the presidents of every level...my daughters school has this n reception for all staff..

- my overriding thinking after reading the document is that PT is being discourteous and rude to people and that there is an unpleasant clique amongst presidents - which would suggest power going to ones head...BUT this is only one side of story and the text message, for example, is being taken in isolation and therefore can always be misconstrued.

- If presidents are booing and making gestures in formal meetings they should be ashamed and we simply have the wrong presidents in place...volunteer role or not please grow up.

- the L1 president role must be tough one...job description seems to be : resident on CdA and have no bias to your area of resort, fluent in English/Spanish, work tirelessly as unpaid volunteer, have experience of managing multi-million pound budget, ability to delegate day to day mgmt activities to those employed to do so, inclusive personality with ability to create and manage a decision making body and run meetings professionally...a small pool of people would qualify I expect!! Given way this is going, PT could resign so this job description may need to be dusted off....

Dear Nijinsky, I just want to you to remember that in fact it was mrs Tann who started the unprofessional accusing on ml on the forum. And it's about time that they defend themselfs. Mr Tann thinks that he is the boss of them and nobody is above him. Well I think he's wrong. He suppose to act in all our interest and on our behalf.he stopped the weekly emails thinking its not up tho us to know what's been done on the resort. Wrong, we all want to see the progress and want to know whats going on.
