We've just received a letter about fitting Polaris air con/ heating before they complete the final building work. Did anyone ever get a Polaris quote? We didnt get a quote as such but looked at some prices and felt they were expensive but did anyone actually get a quote and would they like to share the information? We cant remember what the figures were that we saw.

Hi Jan
Got the same letter this morning, tried phoning them but the girl couldn't speak English and since me Spanish isn't that hot I've sent them an email to see how much they are charging now. Although suspect it will be the usual high prices, I'll keep you informed if I hear anything.

Thanks Mike - just wondered. Still have ailmnoty's figures. The thought of it being done before moving in is persuasive but not if it's over the odds.

The figure that ailmnoty's sent were about 1000Euros cheaper than Homestyle!.
I'm going out there tomorrow, so will go to the showrooms, taking the letter, and ask for a quote and see what discount they are willing to give.
Phil

I think Polaris are trying to make it sound that you SHOULD be getting your air-con sorted out before biulding works are completed, but this is only so that Polaris can supply and fit. Polaris will not let any air-con supplier onto the site before you complete on your property - so don;t be pressured into paying Polaris prices...

Have had some figures from Polaris- just for comparison as we'd just looked at the units in Homestyle when we visited. We're not in a hurry for the aircon as completion will be later this year and we could wait to get that done. Was confirmed that there is no electric point in the bathroom so fitting a radiator un there will require an electrician who can take a lead through from either the living room or the bedroom. Initially they didnt plan to offer any heating in the apartments so the plans didnt have power going to the bathroom.

Can I please remind people not to solicit members to contact them directly for services or recommendations. This is against the forum rules. If you have a recommendation then just post it here for everyone to see. I'm sure the person you are recommending will be very pleased!
Also, never post your email address on the message boards as all our content is available for all to see, including malicious spiders so you will be inundated with spam if you do post it.
Thanks
Justin

Hi there, newbie here - we also got a letter from polaris - saying that this is the last chance to have aircon in. Prices seem expensive to me. I will wait till i get out there before acting --- good idea ???

Best to wait. Polaris are putting the pressure on for you to have their air-con fitted. Lots of other options out there that are the same as Polaris and cheaper.

There is no difference in putting it off till after the build other than the ability to use any air-con suppier and it will be hugely cheaper! A typical install will take less then one day and be relatively mess free.

The rads in the showhouses are all electric - there is no gas at Condado. Any electic radiator would do including the oil filled ones. You may not need radiators as the air-con hot air may do the job fo you.
