I see the latest press release from P.W. dated 4th May states :-
"The initial project for the shopping areas has been modified to be able to provide the greatest number of services to the residents. Both the FORO and AGORA town centres have been relocated and joined together on the same plot measuring 12,000 sq. metres next to the three resorts Naranjos, Jardines and La Isla. This new town centre will keep the name FORO, and work has already begun. The characteristics and facilities will be released at a later date"
While this news may be good for some owners I'm sure it will be bad for others - but - I bet P.W. will be the greatest "winners" overall at the end of the day.

Hopefully it will give a better atmosphere and selection of services. The bars and restaraunts on La Torre can be quiet out of season with Polaris only opening them on certain days a week probably due to the lack of numbers. They have obviously had a re-think and decided to combine the town centres to make it a more vibrant area.
Going to mean a longer walk for those in Jardines 1. Will they be doing a smaller town for those on the left hand side of the resort? Whose starting up the taxi service or hiring bikes out?
We're in the north end of Jardin 5, wonder whats going to be built where the old Faro was?
Our agent requested updated plans last week and hopefully she will have more info when she's back of holiday next week.

danseex - if you go to web site of polaris world info - it gives you access to "villacashback" Polaris world agent - (or go direct to their website) - on the left side of that home page is a 'find out more' section - click on Polaris World news and it will give you this info on 'progress and facilities' also access to other stuff about Condado - hope this helps - c ya

Hi,
Polaris Customer Services have sent us a PDF of the revised site plan. It shows the original town centres blanked out and the new 'Foro' situated between Jardines & Naranjos and backing on to the Oasis area. It is central but will certainly mean quite a hike for those towards the edges of the gardens.
If you want a copy of the PDF pm with your e-mail.
Regards Gary & Angela

Hi
Does anyone know if there will be a permanent supermarket at the old Foro location?
I am concerned that the Foro has relocated. I persuaded my elderly parents to buy into Condado de Alhama and buy an apartment close to the where the Foro was situated, because the facilities were literally at their doorstep - it was a major factor. Neither of them will be driving or cycling so I am wondering how they will get around. Any suggestions?

Marymary- Although its certain to cost something- you can get supplies delivered. If you look at the supermarket logo on the Polaris site you can see they offer a few services such as ordering from home before you leave, for a delivery once you are in situ and I think you can also order from you apartment. Not the same as popping to the shops but it does mean you can at least stock up. It looks like there is a pathway cutting across from ardines to Naranjos so it wont be as far as by road. Alternatively maybe you could see whats left up in the Jardines 10-13 and see if they will let you change locations.

thanks for the PDF Gary & Angela..........we're in Jardine 2 so it's going to be something of a camel trek to reach any facilities.
Hopefully the inconvenience will be made up for by the quality of bars / restaurants in the new merged town centre.
cheers
Peter

We're in Jardin 4 on Naranjos so it won't make too much difference to us and we can see the logic of a fully occupied single centre rather than 2 that could struggle. That said it must be so frustrating to those who want and need the facilities closer and picked their location specifically for those reasons.
People have talked about the Condado 'community' quite a lot on this fourm. Let's hope that extends to looking out for our neighbours who may need a helping hand.

Thank you for the PDF, being on Naranjos Jardin 7, it is a bit further for us but it will just be a bit more exercise, so no bad thing. Agree with you about the disappointment of people that bought for the specific location to town centers and that it may be a good idea to see if you can get a swap. Also think it's better for one busy combined social center than two half used ones. Should really all make for a happier environment.

Looking at the new plan a thought suddenly occured to me that this has been in Polaris's minds for a good six months or so, enough time for the architects to come up with this new scheme working out the new layouts, drainage, electrics etc. In fact I think this was there intention every since the Jardine numbers were changed and suddenly Jardine 6 was missing. Was the sports centre to be known as Jardine 6? why call a sports centre Jardine 6 when its a sports centre and not a Jardine? I think we will see the old Foro now turn into Jardine 6 !!.
As for Jardines 1, 2 etc, the golf suites, villas and El Mirador is there going to be a mini town centre on that side of the resort?
What about the supermarket? will it be near the town centre? It would make sense for deliveries. Oasis on one side of the road and our town centre this side just next to the site security access point, save the drivers driving around the resort dropping goods off.
Think i've been doing too much thinking, all this sun in England has gone to my head.
Looking forward to meeting everyone in the new town centre. Wonder what we're all talking about this time next year?

to me the plan looks hardly detailed, something that could be knocked up in 5 minutes.
I just prey we are not going down the same road as El Valle & Hacienda who are still without their town centers.
Oh well, judgement reserved...only time will tell !

Hadn't thought of that option Danseex- that would be a blow because we see ourselves not hiring a car for short breaks; once Corvera is up and running anyway. Lets hope the place is so big and out in the sticks that they see the need for a supermarket.
It makes sense in the present situation for them to combine the shopping area as it keeps their builders in work but reduces their costs. Got to hope the recession fears dont fuel other cuts in their plans.

Reading the original thread, that started off this topic, there was a press release from Polaris saying that work had already begun on the town centre therefore plans must've already been drawn up submitted and approved for work to begin. We've been told by Polaris on numerous occasions, that there will be a temporary supermarket in the mean time.

You would think Polaris would show the press release on their own website wouldn't you & not on an agents site where people are unlikely to ever see!
Thank god we have this place..LOL !!!

I forgot the original 'press release'. Well at least it means it sounds like it will happen. I must admit that being able to do an order that arrives after you get there has an appeal, so its good to know there will be a supermarket, its always hard arriving and having to go straight out to shop.

I visited Condado Alhama 2nd May. The sports facilities of Jardines are under construction (and supposedly ready June - I don't believe it but don't have a construction background...)
When raising the topic of the Foro move, Polaris customer service commented that when property owner associations would raise concerns, they may be able to set-up a smallish supermarket shop closer to Jardines. And so once key handover has occurred and the association of owners is set-up, this should be on the agenda.
Cheers, Matthijs
