On our visit at the weekend we drove round to the beach club site and to be honest it looked a mess although it's impossible to get close - I will post a couple of photos we took hopefully tomorrow sometime.

On quizzing Roda team about this the next day, they confirmed that work has not been started but that they do still expect it to be open for the summer as the building is already there and they say the rest of the work can be completed very quickly - this is to include an outdoor pool, bar & restaurant so we will need to wait and see  !!

Would certainly be great if they can get it up and running for the summer season.

Linda and I were chatting to a couple in the temp club house on tuesday and they said De Vere had started clearing the dead wood and beach. We have been over to the area a few times now, and been right inside the compound so when we go are over again in 18 days we will look and see if there are any changes.

To be honest they could spend a month on the site before it would look any diferance so who knows.

We asked the English guy in the main office and he asured us the beach club has been started.

This is getting to be a joke, as I have just read my last post of 3 weeks ago!!

We just got back from Roda Golf, and as you will see (from pics) the beach club has still not been touched. I went to the office and they still insist that it will be open in June with limited facilities

Love Roda Golf to bits, but this is beyond a joke. For us who are renting out our properties how can you tell people of future facilities if you can’t believe what they are telling you in the office.

Mind you looks excellent 100 metres from the beach!!!!!!!!

I am going over to Roda this coming weekend, so will let you know if there are any visible signs of progress on the beach club since my last visit in October!

I have this afternoon been in telphone contact with Roda.

The beach club is being renovated by Devere who have assured Calidona the facility will still be opening this summer.

Does anybody on the forum have any contact at Devere so we can contact them direct. ???

Try the Devere web site for contact details.  The Devere General Manager at Roda is, I believe, the ex General Manager of the Belfry and I think his name is Mike Malone but don't quote me on it. 

It would be good to know what you find out.

The general manager at De Vere Roda has now told me the renovation/constuction is down to Calidona. This is totally the opposite to what i have all been told B4.

De Vere will run and manage the club once the building is handed over.

I was also told the expected move in date would be Sept07 which is very disapionting for all of us visiting this summer.

Well I was at the AGM yesterday and Antonio from Roda Golf said, on questioning, in public to the assembled cast that the beach club would be ready this Summer.  He did not mention who was doing what but it is known that DeVere will manage the Beach Club.

We had a good look around the beach club 3 days ago. It is still all fenced in with no sign of life. Parts of the structure look a little unsafe so I think they will have to go some to get even limited facilities for the summer. Everyone we spoke to at Roda seemed convinced that there would be some services by summer this year.

Hi everyone, new to this, my first ever message on a message board.

We were out at Roda weekend of 10th March.  The sales adviser told us that the beach club would not be ready until Dec 07.  Apparently there is some problem with the licence and the existing building.

Can you remember the name of the sales adviser who told you the Beach Club would not open until Dec 07.

I have received today an email from Sonia Ros customer services at Roda.

She has confirmed the restaurant and swimming pool  will still be opening this summe

I will ask her tomorrow if she can confirm a date.

Not sure if they mean 2008. !!!

I was at the Phase 1 AGM in March and Antonio from Calidona said in public that the Beach Club would be open this Summer.

Hi everyone

Had a call from Roda Golf customer services yesterday as we had asked  them  in a letter for confirmation that the beach club would be completed at the same time as our phase 2 apartments, they advised us that there would be partial facilites this summer  (swimming pool and snack bar) but would not be fully completed until summer of 2008, I have asked them to put this in writing for us.

We were told today by Devere management the Beach Club would be opening in July 07 for 3 months with limited facilities. The full opening will be for Summer 08.
