The village is miles from anywhere and full of history. The surrounding hills and mountains are filled with tunnels and I get the feeling this has been a place of escape since well before the civil war here in Spain.
The house was about two hundred years old and had kept much of its original charm. The owner was very aware of energy and had already done a lot of space-clearing work herself.
However, it was so full of residual energy, there were still more layers to uncover.
I started at the top of the house. In the bedroom, straight away I saw a young woman in her twenties on a bed from around the time the house was built. I received the information that she was in labour. The child died and the young woman was unable to have children as a result. The current owner of the property was that woman in a past life. Interestingly in this life, she has always believed she is unable to have children.
I moved to the lounge, which had an odd area above the stairs, the width of a corridor, with a large drop over the stairs. I could see a lady and child hiding in the corner. It felt like this area had once been closed off and used as a place to hide. In fact, the whole house had a feeling of hiding and escaping about it. As I moved downstairs, I came across more energy of escaping. In the summer lounge, I came across a very odd situation. A spirit seemed to be just lying in front of the fireplace and he was telling me that that was where he was buried. It appeared that he was buried there before the house was built. I moved him on, and the room became warmer and brighter straight away. In the under-stairs cupboard, a boy of about 7 years old was hiding. It was residual and not a spirit.
The kitchen, which was also the main entrance to the house, seemed to be a front for what had really been going on in the house. I could see loads of activity and people being hidden in different areas of the house or shown straight to the tunnel. It was like it was once a kitchen supplying the whole village with food, maybe a bakery. Money was not the motivation for the business, getting people out was!
I can only guess this was like a halfway safe house, mainly from the church. It had been used that way from almost the beginning, with people escaping the persecution of the Spanish Inquisition and then later the Spanish civil war.
As I moved down to the basement, there was a window that was blocked and I can guess belonged to the same room as the blocked door in the garden.
The bottom room housed the tunnel, it’s covered now, but If you dug just a few metres it would show itself.
This house helped to save countless lives and it was a privilege to space clear it.
