Just a word on using or not using a solicitor.
I can see both sides of this,it stands to sense to use a solicitor in the normal run of things. If you were buying in the UK or in a small complex in Spain it would be a no-brainer,the checks on the vendor's record and who owns the land etc. would be a must.
I just happen to agree with Ace that all we are paying for is a duplication of the same checks and searches 1000 times over.Surely if one plot is legal the one next door is as well?.
Ace mentioned snagging as being in the solicitor's brief, but I am using Snagitmurcia who are going to liaise directly with Polarisworld, this to me is money well spent.
Also the crux to me is that I am taking over the builder's mortgage, this makes the legalities more straightforward but more to the point,CAM bank is going to own 60% of my property and they are going to be at the Notarys.Surely the CAM solicitors are looking after my interests as well.?
I am certainly not giving anyone advice, this is purely my opinion,in fact I still haven't made up my mind.Nor am I advocating hitching a free ride on the backs of all the people using a solicitor.
I just think, even thoughs it's a fraction of the property, that 1200 is a bit steep for holding hands at the Notarys.
Good luck.
John.
