Hi all
Had a call last week re completion date for block 10 penthouse - just said it would be October and date to follow in 2 weeks. I have pre-empted PW giving me a date when I am not there because we are out there Ist week in October, so rang them today and arraged NIE on 1st and completion on 2nd.
Saves having to argue with them over unsuitable date.
Any other penthouse completions keep us informed on this thread!
By the way Ted if you view this we will be there at Xmas as we are retiring to condado and living there full time.

Have just returned from holiday and noted that dates are now being given for the penthouse handovers. We are in Block 11 and have heard nothing tried phoning polaris world this morning and was promised a return call that never came. Has anyone else on block 11 heard anything or can someone help with contact phone number or e-mail address.

We are also in block 10 and agreed today with PW to complete on the 15th/16th October. Not too long to go now. Looking forward to meeting all of my new neighbours very soon.
Tom & Jane, i would think that you shouldn't be too much longer if you are in block 11. Hope you get your call back with a date.

There certainly will be lots of decisions to for us in the penthouses be made where everyones experience in completing and furnishing on the Jardines will be so valuable in terms of cost and time. We appreciate your comments.

we are signing on the 13th of november, we are in block 2 first floor, we were told we could arrange completion from the 12th of october to the 13th of november so we took as late as possible to get the finances in place as i have not done anything yet on the morgtage

Hi All Penthouse owners,
Just wondered how people are progressing with completion dates or delay status. I know a number of us have had original (not original original, but you know what I mean) completion dates put back now due to HC certs being non-available, but has anybody actually completed now or got a revised completion date yet?
I should be completing on Nov 7th, but PW are now forecasting a 1 week~ 10 day delay. So will now do by POA. So far no new date on the horizon.
A bit of a downer as I had secured a Forward rate assuming an imminent transfer..........could have waited & played the market a little longer. Still hopefully the delay will be a forecast. Stil planning on being out Nov 5th~8th, so if anybody else is out at that time we can hopfully share the odd beverage or 10 etc

We were due to complete next Wednesday (22nd) but have been delayed. No firm date yet but told possible December. We are still going out next week to snag and to do some shopping, etc. PW will pay for POA for our solicitor.
No big deal to us as we weren't planning on going out again until Feb but we now have lots of euros sat in a Hifx account. Trying to determine the best place to put them until December !

That was my only issue too really. Don't want to cancel my existing Euro transfer contract, as that will cost me about £500 with the movement upwards on currency, so based on PW expectation of a 10 day dely I will probably just transfer to my Spanish solicitor as planned. Only worry with that is if there is a longer delay - say Dec or Jan. In that case I would prefer to keep it in my bank than rather than anybody elses.....or maybe in I should keep it in a shoe box under the bed as a safer option!!

Thought about that too Barry.........I will consider it again - if further delayed. They will also charge a fee for the transfer - which will probably outweigh any interest I could earn.....also my Spanish bank is Banco Halifax.....HBOS!!.....Not sure about them at the minute!!

You have just exactly described my position ! I'm with HBOS and balancing the free transfer provided by Hifx to the cost of a transfer from Halifax -> solicitor vs. any interest I may make ! Dilemma...

Hi All, after speaking to my solicitor I'm going to do a bankers draft, they have no expiry date and if I dont complete on Tuesday then my solicitor will hold onto it and hand it over on completion by POA.
I have never met my solicitor and was a bit dubious to hand over nearly 100k to someone I don't know. (the bankers draft will be made out to PW, so no good to him)

Hi everyone, especially fellow Penthouse owners.
Just come back from our visit which was the first visit since we agreed to buy in Dec 06 and the site was then a desert field. I have to confess that I was a bit nervous prior to this visit as I was not sure how I would cope with not being completely satisfied with developments especially when you look at some of the extremely negative comments on some other forums. Anyway - I can put most people's concerns to rest as my wife and I were really blown away with the level of progress that has been achieved and the standard of work. Some relevant points you should all know are:
The Penthouses and Jardines look amazing and are complete.
The swimming pools are fantastic and fully up and running.
The golf course is well under way but I think it will be late 2009 before playable.
There will be very few facilities available probably for another year as the Foro is only just being started and no sign of the Oasis yet which is a 2 and half year project in itself.
The access points to the complex are not yet completed so anyone visiting will find it difficult to get access and you will have to blag your way in like we did through a nice security man.
Important - the show penthouse was sold the week we were there so there is currently no property to look around. They are going to open a new one in block 7.
Less than 40 penthouses left to sell!
Interior wise - the kitchen hob / oven / and extractor fan are all in nice stainless steel, so think twice about ordering white goods.
Bedrooms are a good size as is the whole penthouse which was a slight concern of mine judging previous photos.
The twin bedroom has the power sockets on the wall facing the door. This is probably in the wrong place as it limits opportunity for where the twins beds can go. If you put the beds on another wall which to us would be better, your bedside cabinet and lamp cannot be plugged in. A minor thing but a design fault that cannot be changed now. (Our small consul table for this room is no longer required.)
There are 11 separate ceiling light points.
Plenty of space in the bathroom for a free standing cupboard to store towels.
We have exact dimensions of penthouse rooms if anyone wants them - measured by lazer.
I have some pictures that I will email anybody who asks for them providing their email address.
Overall - very pleased and impressed. We visited Polaris head office. They were very helful and there is no sign of the credit crunch effect there. There is still a lot of sales acitivity and potential customers around.
Competing on 2nd December - habitation certificate or not. No point delaying as there is no risk as habitation certs will be delivered it s just a clerical delay at the notary office due to the volume of completions going through. Note Power of Attorney costs about £250 (Pounds).
Hope this helps. We are very happy with what we have seen and our investment in these hard times seems to have been a good one.

Hi folks,
Just returned and we HAVE COMPLETED. Yes COMPLETED, long story which includes, old man on bike and young boy on zebra crossing ( thats another thread). Got all our furniture, beds, lights and even lamps, kitchen goods and crockery, even had time for a cuppa with Carol (shes my hero). Its now late and I am very tired will post and explain more tomorrow.
