Hi Asillisa1
I completed on the 1st of July without the hab cert. I got a call from PW on Friday to say that they will have it this week. Without the cert you canout stay in your own apartment. So you can still sign for completion and wait for your cert

We're at the Notary today to fix up the POA. Should have completed on the 12th (hubby's birthday) but were told over a week ago there Hab Cert wont be issued until the end of August. We have snagged this week and seemed to come off lightly with that just some tidying up bits and a floor tile to be replaced. Snagit are very thorough, checking individual tiles thoughout the property inside and out amongst all the other things and Trevor though they'd get to it quickly as these are easy snags to remedy although he said there has been a slowing down on getting snags sorted just because of the volume of work.
Jardin 8 is coming on a treat, its one of the last to be finished so there were lots of gardeners around when we were there and the grass still needs heavy watering to green up. They havent put in any bouganvillia yet but as its in other gardens we expect they will get around to it. Really happy with the position of the apartment and its a short stroll to the supermarket and sports area. They were working on the pool too. Was exciting to actually be in the apartment and I'm less concerned about the size of the rooms now. The outside terrace space is excellent and the balcony area was better than remembered, certainly room for a small a table and chairs. The Polaris rep said all owners must now purchase outside lights from Polaris- so that there is uniformity, dont know how they will Police this.
The rep wasnt able to shed any light on a Foro being built in any form on the sight of the original Foro- she could only say that there will remain a supermarket at the gym.
Staying at La Torre is lovely and give a good insight into what it could be like at Condado.
We have some pics to post when we return next week.

HI Jan & Mike, It's nice to hear you are enjoying your holiday.
It's the 1st I've heard about that outside lights must be purchased from Polaris. I've just ordered mine and made a date for the installation. Hope they like gargoyles...
It's good to know that jardin 8 is coming on and I look forward to seeing the photos. I hope there's water in the pool by the 20th Sept cos I'll be trying it out.

Hi Jan & Mike,
Will look forward to your snaps being posted of Jardines 8 ( I think they will be the first of J8 so far) and getting a feel for the layout of our own particular garden. Hopefully when we come over at the beginning of September to complete the grass will have greened up a bit and the bouganvillia will have been planted - I think they really set it off.
I wish Polaris would make it clear on what the outside lighting policy is - we keep getting conflicting reports on this forum that say will fit / won't fit , all same / all individual. Personally, I would prefer the uniform outside appearance of the apartments also reflected in the outside lighting but you can't blame people for getting thier own if no information has been forthcoming. You would expect that if uniformity was to be the case then it should have been listed in the contract fixtures & fittings or relayed to us all via a simple e-mail or written communication. Will also be staying at La Torre for four nights and looking forward to having some nice relaxing outside drinks/meals and getting away from this 'wonderful summer' we are having yet again in the UK.
It will be nice to put faces to names eventually of the people we have been communicating with on this forum over the past months and geting to know our near neighbours a little better (I'll have to compile a list of Jardine 8 names to start with and then go round asking everyone I see ' are you so & so ??). As in life itself, we won't necassarily like everyone we see or meet & vise versa but messages on forums etc can easily give the wrong impression and it is evident that several postings reflect peoples comments who seem to have been 'rubbed up the wrong way' by taking another's comment way out of perspective.
Happy to be in Jardine 8 and one of the last gardens to complete as there will probably be more people around when we come over and the place may look a little bit lived -in. Although this will just be a fleeting visit, we will need to get back again fairly soon to sort out all the furnishing etc, so hope to bump into a few of you and have a chat over a beer or two.
Regards,
Will & Jackie.

Yes, its going to be good to meet up with forum friends.
I'm not sure what to make of the policy on outside lights as I dont know how they can monitor this. We may go to Homestyle today so if I can find out more I will. I'm not particularly bothered about the style of the outside lights but if Polaris are to monopolise this then I hope their prices are competitive.
Plus only the Polaris rep mentioned it and Trevor from Snagit we havent had anything more official than that.
The Jardin looks a really good size, so the apartments dont seem close on each other and there was plenty of planting going on- should look great.

Good luck to everyone completing soon.
Regarding the outside lights:- I spoke to my solicitor before completing and he said that either PW had got to supply and fit the lights themselves before completion OR state in the contract that they have got to be of one certain design. Has they have done neither of these things they cannot now enforce a design and specify where you buy them from.
Regarding the Snagging:- PW stated that they had 30 working days to correct any faults after the first snagging was done, yet they seem, once again, to have changed the rules to suit themselves.
It is a pity they are not so flexible with the people on this forum who had their completions brought forward by 6 months and then have genuine problems completing.
Very much a "Do as I Say and not as I do" attitude I think.

We've been to Homestyle but it was closed- a Bank Holiday we think. Not sure about the ligh situation so will ask as we need to know ourselves may try tomorrow.
Our Soliciotr said they are really behind with the Habt Certs and are having to tell people on the day of completion that they are not avaiable. Glad we knew earlier otherwise it would have en very disappointing and as Polaris wil then pay for the POA it sems to make little difference. We hope it does ome through by the end of the month as they are now saying but we're not holding our breath- the summer holiday close down is clearly affecting staffing levels even if Polaris and the Council are still open they have large numbers of staff on holiday. The Notary was madly busy, people waiting every where for several hours..

Finally completed on the 26th.August after many phone calls and visits to Polaris HQ !! We went over to Condado on the followind day and can only echo other's sentiments regarding the look of the place. The apartment was even better than we imagined and the garden itself is taking shape. Had to come home on Friday (with a heavy heart) but looking forward to actually staying in the apartment at the end of October (hopefully).
Just one point has anyone considered / had done the sealing of the patio areas to prevent staining ? If so can they recommend anyone to do it and roughly what was the cost ?

We have now heard that completion should be on Wednesday. Apparently on the 26th the problem was caused by CAM Bank who had not signed and completed the paperwork meaning our solicitor was required to wait and wait and wait. At some point he could not wait any longer as he was on his annual leave and so he left. Our complaint is only that someone should have let us know -anyway, hopefully, finally all will be resolved on Wednesday .
Unfortunately at the back of this is the fact that CAM dont instill confidence and we still await our Bank Cards and internet information from them having expected to collect them on 11th August.
The bubbly will be back in the fridge tomight awaiting Wednesday!!!

No news, other than a call from CAM Bank asking if we planned to attend the completion because they dont know what's happening! As we are here in the UK and our Solictors have POA - the waters remain muddy!!
