Hello everyone.
I was just thinking, has anybody thought of how the SPANISH ARE THINKING?
We bought our property of MRI and they told us at the time, that VERANDA was going to be 70/30  split in favor of the SPAINISH. I am just raising this issue in relation to the sat and opening times of the pool and spa, because the Presidant in Thallassa is Spainish and the voteing seems to sway the Spanish way. Maybe they feel the opening times are fine.

Hi everyone,
we have just returned from Veranda last week and a lot of the owners are Spanish, not many of us brits around at all, there are also around 30 units still unsold.Regarding the spa opening times, even though it is open now , the jacuzzi nor sauna are in use and there are no weights on the multi gym so only half the equipment can be used, the grassy areas are still a bit disappointing in places but hopefully this will come on given time.As for the pool and spa opening hours I also agree with longer  opening times , we all seem to feel this way as we don`t get much of a chance to enjoy the weather so would like to as much as possible whenever we are there but as someone has already mentioned the Spanish are in it all year round so may not feel the same way and also, the longer it is open it will have to be cleaned  etc thus raising our community charge which the Spanish may also not agree with.Another point I would like to mention is the parking areas, if you have already visited you will see that they are not very wide and if there are two cars parked either side of yours, one of which is parked over your side of the line then you won`t be able to park your car in your space, therefore everybody has to have a bit of consideration for their neighbours and park between their own lines as straight as possible , at the moment  this isn`t too much of a problem as the car park isn`t very full but may become one once it gets busier, and as every apartment has only one space the only option is to park outside the complex on the road. We won`t be able to attend the first community meeting if it is in September, but if anybody is using a management company for their apartment while they aren`t there then it may be possible for them to represent you at the meeting and express your views on your behalf.
                                                                                                        all the best

Hi Both.
I have wondered about that too but don't really know how to include them in this forum unless they also opt to log onto it. I spoke briefly to a Spanish lady and her friend who were there with a couple of children in July and they seemed very nice.  Though as usual their English was much better than my Spanish.
As for the pool opening times etc.  it may well be that they won't particularly want it open for longer as they are more likely to find April & October too cold - unlike us lot from further north!!!!  Even so, hopefully we will be able to agree on things especially if there are not huge costs involved.
I notice on the Thalassa forum that there are big debates going on re. the costs of lifeguard provision.  It might be that if our pool is smaller, and I think it might be, then we won't legally have to provide a lifeguard.  Even so,  maybe that's another thing we need to look into and discuss.
All the best,
Pauline
P.S.  Looking forward to the Wok

Hi

I agree that because the Spanish have such lovely weather that they may not wish the pool to be open any longer so we will have to hope that they will sympathise with us and get them to understand that the weather in Spain in April and October is probably still better that we get at the height of our summer.  Hence why so many of us have purchased holiday homes out there.  I'm sure opening the pool for 2 months longer for example will not incur a huge increase to us all and after all, many of us thought we would be paying for it 365 days a year anyway.  Maybe we need to get our Spanish neighbours to come and stay with us for a week and they will see why we think it's still really hot in months like April and October!

I believe that our pool does not warrant a lifeguard as it comes under the size for legally having to have one.

Best Wishes
Helen

hi to all on veranda hope your all well.when we signed up we thought pool & spa opened 365days ayear.im quite sure we dont require a lifeguard as the pool is too small.as jamie11 & ross8 (bones) (are boys) suggested a water slide from perhaps  paul & carols balcony into deep end of the pool for saftey reasons of course & using a tunnel for exit only!!!!we feel the pool & spa should be opened all year round for all to use on veranda as they so please.colin & gayle

I agree with Colin & Gayle 100%.  When we signed up we presumed both pool and spa would be all day every day.  Living in Scotland the pool would still probably feel like a warm bath to us in December !!!
